So this isn't limited to just one band, but I found myself listening to some Dave Matthews/Tim Reynolds stuff again and it made me think of this. I went through high school teaching myself how to play guitar to a lot of DMB stuff to try to shorten the learning curve (he has quite a few very difficult songs). I went to his concerts, had the CDs, bought the T-shirts, etc., :D I know, embarrassing. I just really liked how different his music was from mainstream back then. It was an odd combination of instruments to be in a band, and the fact that they would jam out on every song for so long was really cool.

When I went to see them in Hershey, it started raining in the middle of his song "Dancing Nancies," and he just started singing about the weather in Hershey, etc, all on the spot. Just an impressive musician I suppose. Strange dude, but talented nonetheless.

I eventually stopped listening a lot more once they released Busted Stuff and sounded a but too studio-ish to me (snobby, I know).

Anyways, anyone you've ever started listening to again after a long period without?

One of my favorites (Tim's slide work at the end of the song is impressive):

Dave has always been one of my favorites. Not the best guitar player when comparing him to the greats but Tim Reynolds is in a league of his own. I've seen dmb a few times and once with tim Reynolds at bonnaroo. Amazing.

I have been listening to a lot of Staind lately. Used to listen to them a lot back in the day, then tapered off, but now its back strong

Their last album really rekindled my interest in them.

Yessir. I liked their songs on the couple albums before that, but it definitely wasn't the same. I like their heavier stuff the best

Timmy is a freak! I pretty much mirrored your story. I was a huge DMB fan until Busted Stuff. I've been to 13 concerts, all '98-'04. They were by far the most eclectic and talented musicians of their time.

I started listening to Rammstein in high school when my best friend moved back from Germany. Then I moved on. I stumbled upon them a few months ago on my hard drive and now I'm enjoying it again. Did the same with Powerman 5000.
