Had a good weekend, me and the kids found 208 Sat and Sunday. Got a bonus Shed to, Old.. but still a Shed is a Shed. Anyone else finding some Schrooms?
still not popping here, I think BC needs to get some here to me so my morel levels don't drop any lower! hehehe Now, how do y'all liked them prepared? We (wife and I) just halve them, roll in flour and fry in butter.
Thats a good day BB,,,IV I just roll them in egg and then dip them in Ky Cournal batter mix and fry em up,,,delish!!
Ill be looking for the little buggers this weekend while chasing turkeys. And after 1:00 when we quit for the day. Nice haul crick. I know it's been wet enough here. We just need some warm temps again.
Ummmm......yep and yep..... This is what my family has found in the last couple days while I'm 800 miles away. I leave Dallas on Thurs. to head home for a couple weeks of turkey hunting, fishing and hopefully find a few of these. I'm hoping with the continued rain and cool weather this week up there that I will still be able to find some.
sounds like an easy yet very yummy way to fry them up.. will have to try that.. thanks Crick!... btw..to all you guys that havent had the pleasure of eating morels .. they are dang fine eating..
WORD Shed,,they are schrumptious! 2Lunger,,thats a good haul! Well guys Ill be honest,,we eat about 3 batches each year and the rest go to an Auction house, and people go nuts. I should be able to pay for most of my lease with mushroom money this year. I average around $50.00 for a gallon bag.
Since they cannot be grown commercially, I'm sure that adds to the hype, but as far as I'm concerned they are the best mushroom the Good Lord put on the face of this earth! People pay $25 - $30 per pound around here for them.
i like "reg" mushrooms so im sure that i'll love these, but not enough to pay that kind of money. dont get me wrong im not knocking someone for liking them that much, just not my style. guess next time i'm out and about i'll look around for a few =-)
I cant wait to start Shroom hunting....it still snowing here which is putting a hitch in the Morels popping up! BUMMER!
Looks sooooo good! I am hopeful it will be a good mushroom season here. Last year was terrible. I love a good spring meal of bluegills, crappies, and morels. Just doesnt get any better than that. Enjoy!
