I was scheduled for 10 days of hunting, but wound up getting one full day in before things went to hell in a hurry. I'll post the pictures from the drive up, setting camp, and the only morning I was able to hunt. The doctor okayed him to go so I went again this year with my dad but was also able to include my best friend finally. He passed his hunter's education course this last January and was stoked to head to camp with us.
And then the rod holding my front passenger side shock in place snapped and blew out my tire. I spent half a day running back and forth between the nearest town borrowing tools, removing my tire, buying a new one, having it mounted and balanced and putting it back on only to have my breaks start to go out. Decided to drive back to Spokane to get those fixed only to find out I need new pads, rotors, and calipers. Had the girlfriend borrow her parent's SUV and we drove back to camp two days later to break the news to my dad and best friend who decided after only a few deer sightings and three days of heavy rain to break camp and come home early. It was rough. Glad to be home though and I'm already itching for the late season.
Awesome pics! Too bad about the hunt though... but there's always the late season I guess. Atleast your Dad was able to get out and enjoy himself for a couple days, right?
One of these days the planets will align for you to have a perfect mulie trip and you'll nail a slammer! Great scenery as always in any case!
Dan, have I ever told you to pull your pants up? :D Great pics ....that'll be an experience you will always remember, Dan .... where the heck you been, anyway???
Great pix! Sorry it was such a rough time. You area looks similar in terrain to what I was hunting in.
Danny, Danny, Danny. Life has been dealing you a pretty crappy hand lately. You can borrow it. Just for one day.
