I just checked out the site and everything has changed? Have they been bought out by a bigger company?

I hadn't noticed the changes, but Daym, they jacked the prices way up!!!!!!!!!!!! On everything. That's too bad because I like a lot of Muddy's products, but not at these prices.

the sticks are basicly the same, in fact the 32" sticks now have double folding steps. You might want to re think not buying them.

So they made a bunch of unnecessary changes to Muddy's ordinal line and added a bunch Big Game Tree products and slapped the Muddy name on it... They will be hard pressed to get me to buy anything from them. A name change won't make their products better.....

The new sticks are basically the old Big Game Aerolite system, but now in the 32" length. I had looked at the 20" Aerolite sticks, but it did not have the "best" reviews.

My bad.........Big Game made this system in 32" length already!!!

I had also looked at the Bravada, not a bad stand for being made in China. But not at that price! Incidentally Amazon.com is currently selling the same Bravada for $130 w/ free shipping.

I picked up 6 of them this time last year at ****s, they were marked down to 49.

They are an ok stand, I say if you can get them under a 100 they are worth it. Anything more then that I would pass ...

So they buy a company, use that companies name on their own products and jack the price up on the products from the company they bought so they don't compete with their cheaper prodcuts???? Makes sense to me, not!!!!!!

The seat adjustment is great, the platform not so much. It has to be adjusted on the ground and preferably on the garage floor because its like 7 pieces between the bolt, washers etc. You could easily loses something in the grass.
I paid $70 for mine and other than the seat cushion and seat leveler, I hate it. The platform is tiny, for its size you would have thought it would be lighter. And mine is loud from day one.
Good riddance, won't be buying any more.

 Man, you guys are brutal.

First off let's start by saying that they weren't purchased by Big Game, they were purchased by the same company who also owns Big Game. It may not seem like a big difference but it is.

Second, the price increase doesn't surprise me at all. For years Muddy was selling at the same price (or very close to it) as their dealers and in the archery world it's all about protecting the dealers and bowing down to the box stores. If you're going to sell direct to the consumer you must sell higher than the dealers or the dealers aren't going to carry your products. I'd be willing to bet that some box store put the squeeze on and forced a price increase to drive more people into their stores and away from going direct.

As for quality I doubt you'll see much if any change. In most cases when you have two brands owned by the same company you see an increase in quality of the lesser brand, not the other way around. Muddy has been known for high quality products for years. In order to protect their investment in the brand that is very unlikely to change.

I guess we will have to see what the prices are like at the retail level, but it doesn't look like you can even purchase directly from the Muddy website any longer. I'd be curious to see what retailer would be willing to carry the entire line of Muddy products. I can't see too many carrying something like the Boss Hawg in stock.
Besides, selling a product on your own website for basically the same price as it retails for seems to work for Lone Wolf just fine:poke:
