Which climbing sticks should I buy? I like the look of both but cant decide. Pros and cons? I might also buy a hang on from 1 of the 2. Any suggestions?

Lone Wolf. You can climb considerably higher with the same number of sticks, and the rotating V-bracket seems to bite into the tree better when you seat the stick. I was never able to really lock my Muddy sticks in place as well as I'd like.

Same with the stands. The cast aluminum platform is lighter, quieter and to me, more stable, than another stand I've hunted out of.

At the end of the day you'd be hard pressed to find a higher quality hang-on and climbing sticks than Lone Wolf. IMO they're the best on the market by a long shot.

If you have the money and want the best set of sticks and best stand on the market then buy a Lone Wolf. Get 4 sticks and a alpha hang on and you can get into ANY tree, anywhere!

I have the LW hang on and four sticks which is great quality but I do like the fact that muddy sticks has the double foot pegs and the rope cams but their sticks are short like LW mini sticks.

If one of the companies would take the better ideas from the other we'd get a really great set up. Im sure in time.

Ok. Does the LW pack in good? I wont be leaving these expensive things in the woods and want something fairly easy to carry in and out and still be able to have everything else. Thanks

I have the Muddy stand (new this year) and the LW sticks. Sold my LW stand last year after 5 years with it and might end up regreting it, time will tell and If I do look for a slightly used Muddy stand to be in the classifieds. LW sticks diffinetly have it all over the Muddy sticks IMO. I bought one stick last year and didn't like it at all, the part about it only being 20" was a big downfall.

Listen to this man. He's giving good advice. He pointed me towards LW over the Muddy and I don't regret it a bit!

I just got 4 LW sticks to go with my assualt hang-on. I have been practicing with the set-up for the last three weekends and it is great to say the least. Everything on the LW packs together very tight and quiet and you can get into just about any tree you want, like others have stated. The sticks are extremely solid and feel glued to the tree. On top of that you can hang them very quick, safe, and easy.

My only gripe about the set-up is with the stand. It does make some squeaking noise once on the tree and locked down. Anybody have any tips for this? The noise seems to be coming from where the platform meets the square tubing that runs up to the seat.

Mine has been quite, but you might try using Dead Down Wind's odorless oil. I used it on an old squeaky stand before I sold it. It worked well, I just carried it with me in my pack.

A word of caution, it's the same size bottle as their mouth spray... that's just a cruel joke:busted:

IMO the only thing the Lone Wolf sticks have over the Muddy Sticks is their length.

The convenience of having a foot peg on both sides is great, the rope cam attachment system is quiet and extremely secure, and the issue Justin mentioned of the rotating V bracket has been addressed in the new Muddy sticks.

That said the length advantage that the Lone Wolf sticks have is a HUGE one. Fewer sticks with more height equals faster set up time and easier packing.

Muddy needs to make some longer sticks.

Yes the Muddys pack together nicely. I thought I would get more arguing from both sides. Looks like Ill be "hunting like a wolf" according to Fitz! Thanks for the opinions.

After you've used both products, which a lot of us have, there's not much arguing to be done. :tu:

I really like both companies, and think they both product great products.

The only things I have Muddy wise are the harness and tree arm. Completely satisfied with both. I'm looking into their lightest stand, too.

I own the LW sticks and Alpha. They are very nice.

IF the Muddy sticks are the same length, I'd own them.
