I'll be buying some new boots in the next couple of days. I currently use Bayou snake boots. I was wearing out rubber boots with mesquite thorns. I'm hunting a different part of the state now and mesquite thorns aren't a problem. I loved the Lacrosse Alpha Burly Sport boots I used to have, however I have heard great things about Muck Woody Elites. Price isn't enough of a difference to play a role in my decision. What boot do you wear and why? If you were to choose between these 2 which would you pick and why?
I've heard very good things about the Muck's. With that said, I have no first hand experience with them. Lisa's family owns a logging supply shop up in the Adirondacks that is also a huge boot dealer, and they sell a LOT of Muck's, it's one of their best lines, and everyone has good things to say about them. I fully intend to own a pair of them at some point, the only problem is that I just can't kill my 5 year old Alpha Burly's. I've used them as my primary boot now for 5 years, and have countless miles on them. They have been worn to the point that the camo is fading, but no holes yet, and they still feel like slippers inside. I don't think you can go wrong with either, I'd go for the best deal you can get personally.
I have a pair of Muck boots and love them. Just as an FYI though, if you can try them on first. I wear a size 9-9.5 shoe and my Mucks are a size 7. They fit perfect for early season with light sock on.
I looked at Mucks but they just didn't fit my foot size very well...maybe if they had half sizes? So I bought AB's on sale and like them so far.
I love my muck feildblazers so far, this is going to be myt first full season with them and they only ran like 70 bucks.
