This is one of the points I was driving at. You are right, they won't come after you individually, but they will eventually require access to your pc in order to use their software. We aren't there yet, but I'm just saying they are going to do everything they can to get their $$. I could be wrong, but I just think they are gonna want their money.

Yeah, just like the Music CD's everyone copies. Pictures. Yada yada yada. You can go blow this smoke up someone else bud.

At least I was man enough to admit I was wrong. I don't see any others confessing to "EVER" copying/stealing music/video here. Guess everyone else is just totally above that.

we are VERY close to it though... eventually all software will be sold as a service... when you log on your apps will run as executable on a server at MS datacenter and you'll have to pay for access to them, probably as a monthly fee... the days of PC installed software are becoming very short... MS has been prepping everyone for this with the "To The Cloud" commercials... cloud computing is coming fast and all your apps are gonna be there...

This is why no one listens to the bible thumpers Bobby, you come on here sight scriptures, let everyone know you believe. When in suits you, you steal from someone else and justify it with the above.

What would Jesus do? Would he steal?

BTW I buy my music and my movies. That is someone elses content and paying .99 cents for a song is not going to kill me.

First of all I am not a "Bible thumper". I believe the Word of God. My intent was not to steal software. I have a full version of MS 2010 that came on a computer I "payed for". I just felt I was being ripped off by having to "buy the software again". No harm, no foul. I have asked the Lord to forgive me already. He did. Now, if only people could do the same, "they" would be alright as well.

I don't have to justify anything Germ. Was not trying to. Just pointing out that everyone on here breaks laws every day, and then slam me for making a mistake. Speaks volumes for the real "Bible Thumpers" here.

Ah yes...the cloud! I haven't heard any news on that lately, so I kind of forgot about it.

I will admit that I have done these things before, never felt right about it and I don't do it anymore. It helps that I am not into music that much, just like some background noise.

Sorry it wasn't the answer you were looking for LA, lets all learn from it and move on.

I was by no means trying to 'condem' you Bobby. I was simply illustrating why I saw it as a bad move.

I've only sinned about 60 time this morning...

You bought a computer with demo software. If you would have read the documents, it would have been pretty clear. There is no "buy the software again" going on again. Again, if you know you need a serial number to activate the software, and you're attempting to circumvent the process, it's stealing.

If you don't want to pay for the software, take a look at the post I did above with perfectly viable alternatives. :)

There will still be a need to run installed software because here in America, we are not that high of a percentage with fast internet connections. Many rural areas still have modem and will for many years.

IF... the original post had something more than DELETE... I could probably help you. LOL My son works at Microsoft in Bellvue. He's a project manager with some "INS". Of course if I don't like you... you're dead. LOL There are codes for everything. I can make puppies pee on a fire hydrant with my keyboard. LOL Seriously, my son does work at Microsoft. What's your problem... you deleted it before I read it. I'm headed for Seattle in the morning. Need any new software from the company store? Oh wait..... I have to decide if you're on the like list. LOL The new version of Microsoft office would probably cost me at least $25.
