I took my MR6 to the shop, because to me the bow was shooting funny, it also had a clicking noise on the top cam. So upon closer inspection, it has a 5 degree noticeable Cam Lean on the top cam. The only thing done to the bow was my friend installed Winners choice strings on them. I do not remember when the clicking started, but now I have a bow in the shop and they are going to figure why it has a Cam Lean. Just wanted to see if anyone else on here had the same problem or a fix to this problem?
Not sure but taking a stab at it with out seeing it. Sounds like one side of the yoke stretched. Hutch
I had a MR7 and the bow developed a lean on the top cam. I took it back to the dealer who looked at it and agreed it was leaning. Mathews replaced the limbs after they looked it over which all in all took a month. Luckily it was over the summer. After they swapped the limbs the problem never returned. Hopefully the fix will be the same for you.
A couple of quick fixes... Check your Yoke lengths, and add a twist to two and see if you can take the lean out. You can also swap limbs top and bottom and that often will patch it up.
I don't think you can on those. They don't have yokes. They have, well i'm not sure what you call it...lol. Same system as the chill has. No yoke cables.
If it floats on an idler then twisting it will add the same to both sides as it won't pull against the cable. You can swap limbs and see if that works.
I think swapping the limbs from side to side can help, otherwise they might have to order you a different set.
A simple thing you can do to help the small "yoke" cables if you will, is to press the bow apply some string wax, I recommend String snot or something thin and similar to the ring the cable rides in. This will lubricate the groove in the ring and allow the "yokes" to float more freely and when drawn removes some of the lean. I have found that sometimes the serving on those pcs tends to hold the cables in place and not allow them to "float" like they are intended!
They cam is leaning without it being drawn. When I draw it, it makes a clicking sound. So I took it to my bow shop and they said it was a bad bearing causing the issue. I might purchase 60lbs limbs for my bow.
From what I've learned about cam lean you really can't measure it when the bow is not drawn - especially on the Monster series bows. Every one I've ever seen has exhibited some signs of cam lean at rest. As the bow is drawn and the yokes move the lean you see at rest will usually come out. Have you tried tuning the bow at all to see if your arrow is flying properly? Or are you just looking at the bow and seeing the cam out of whack a little?
