I've got two new MP6 cameras that I have not had a chance to put out yet. The area I hunt is 130 miles away and that is where I'll be setting up my cameras. I recently used some WGI cams and the batteries didn't last long at all, often less than two weeks, and I got to wondering how long my batteries will last with the new Coverts. I decided to set up a little test and find out. I set a camera in my back yard where the wind would make the trees move constantly and the camera could rack up a bunch of photos. I left the camera out for two days and we had some super windy weather both day and night. The MP6 took 8991 pictures and the batteries are still over half charged. I was impressed. The spots I plan to put these two cameras get very few wind pics so the new cameras should work out well. I generally get anywhere from 500 to 600 pics in a two week period so I expect the batteries use to save me a lot of headaches. I should get them out this week.
One thing ive learned with Coverts are that im done stockin up on batteries. Ive had my mp6 out since January and it still has full battery!
The battery life on Coverts is astounding. I have an MP6 out since August and it has taken over 20,000 pics and is still going on the original set of 8 batteries.
That is amazing Greg. I have my first Covert out right now that I put brand new batteries in so I am curious to see how long it will last. I have gotten probably 900 pictures so far and still have a full charge. Long way to go to get to 20,000 though!
