The Red40 does some of the nicest pics I've seen from a commercial cam...has a better flash range as well. The mp6 does plenty good enough for any scouting I would need, though the mp6 Black is a little short on illumination sometimes. They both will do the job well.

MP6 is most bang for the buck IMO, but the Red40 will outperform it at a price.

like I said in the PM, tough choice. You will be happy with either and that is why I would say get both :) Each serve their own purpose.

I recommend first time Covert owners though to the 2012 red40 deal .> DLC Covert

To me I think the red40 is a more of a all around camera. Will work good on trails, light up food plots and field edges where the mp6black does better in certain set ups. From what I seen by me, the deer dont spook much at all from the redflash compared to my other makes of redflash cameras.

Keep us updated on what you end up doing and I DONT think you will find a much better camera in the $125 price range.

Only thing I don't like about the MP6B is the night time range of the cam...but then again when used for what we bought it for (bedding or close/tight settings) it is wonderful!

Yeah that is a downside of it but I have some got some really nice pictures from it (day time) and if they are in range of the flash at night it does well.

flash range on the mpe5 is a little less then the mp6. Daytime pictures are the same.

    If I had a choice mpe5 vs the mp6- I would watch for a deal on a mp6.
I got in on the mpe5 deal for 50$, so that was a steal. But if you gave me $100 dollars right now and a choice between a mpe5 and mp6, I would get a mp6.
    (ideally spend 20$ more and get the 2012 red40 :) )

Oh for sure! Daytime clarity from MPe5 through Red40 for me are great, slight increases as you move up but all great!

    I run a 2013 red40. I run it on half flash,8mp settings.

Battery life is hard to judge for me as it has been bitter cold. -8 out there now. No complaints though from me on battery life on my red40 (or my other coverts for that matter). I know that review says battery life went down a little from the 2 years. Probably has to do with the 12mp pictures/better videos with sound.

I still would recommend the 2012 red40 deal as it is hard to beat for the price. If you are thinking of doing videos and what not, then the 2013red40. But most people like the 2013black60 better if you are doing mainly videos.
