mowing tall grass..

    does anyone else feel like deer come out to areas that have been freshly mowed. I have a couple meadows that I hunt and every time I simply mow them the deer hammer them.

    Yes , but the best for us is to mow wide swaths through them not the entire field. Sets up some security, fresh new growth, easy walking in wet weather and some bedding.

    Yep.
    Seems like anything new in a deer territory will get them to investigate.
    Mowing tall grass can stimulate new weed ( Forbes) growth.
