I didn't want to derail a thread. So here goes. The private land (familyowned) fell through this year so no hunting public land here in Indiana. Tried to do some scouting and with the help of the game warden thought I had found a spot out of the way and where some deer were traveling through. Fast forward to today and I have seen 0 deer anywhere near where the stand is placed in the 4 sits that I have been out. I know it is early but when is the right time or is there a right time to make the decision to move a stand? Each evening hunt as I am leaving I have seen at least 2 deer crossing the road about 50 yds north of where I park to trek in for my stand, so these deer are about 150 or more yds north and farther east as well. Should i look at moving north or into the path that they are crossing? Sorry for the dumb questions.
Some of the best spots are what we think would be the worst. Sent from my XT907 using Tapatalk now Free
thanks for the replies. Actually the warden scouted the area I have the stand up in now. His stand is much father south on the other side of the marsh. which is why I was looking at going further north to where I have seen them when leaving. Maybe I can move it this weekend can't hunt anyway as wind is all wrong.
I would just get out there more and scout. Look for active trails and dont over hunt the sets you have in place
