Guess I was too old to be scared by them when it came out. Great movie but even better book.

now I wont go near girls that sneeze...scarred for life.

but more to the point...I have to vote for Jaws as well. I grew up in South Florida and spent most of my time on the beaches. It never scared me to the point where I wouldn't go in the water but I darn sure scanned the surface for fins...still do :)

In 1977 I was 7 and there was a movie called sasquatch that scared the **** out of me. I was terrified of a bigfoot for years after that movie and to this day if I hear something scratching at the window I think it MIGHT be a bigfoot.

Just thought of another one...Silver Bullet with Gary Busey. The scene where the kid is on the bridge and gets chased by the werewolf scared the bajeezus out if me back in the day.

this one gave me nightmares for literally 3 decades. I saw it when I was about 5, and actually had a small segment of it in a nightmare a few months ago...

and then there was Stephen King's short story The Raft (seen in Creepshow 2) that kept me from swimming in lakes until I was about 12:

My oldest daughter never did like clowns. After we watched this show... I think it scarred her for life. She gets creeped out every time I mention it now.

Werewolf In London creeped me out when it came out. I just saw it lately again and couldn't believe how fakey it was. Things definitely got more real looking in the last 30 years. Now you see the old shows again and they are just corny.

The scene in "The Edge" where the bear is breathing in the trees out of sight before attacking that guy by the fire. I had a childhood fear of bears. That scene was eery.

The scene in the first Rambo when he falls from the cliff through the tree and his arm is all bloodied up. When i was a kid it looked like his flesh was fillet off. The movie the hills have eyes creeps me out real bad. To this day i cannot drive a remote desert road without one hand on my pistol

I will also say that when the alien is first seen in "Signs" I jumped in my chair. Was staring right at it and didn't pick it up til it moved. I won't say I've been haunted by it but I admittedly was startled.
