I'm trying to figure out how I want to mount my buck from this year. I'm # 13 or 14 in line so he'll be mounting it sometime in February. I'm torn on what kind of mount to do. My current mount is a semi sneak with slight left turn, so I'm wanting something with a right turn. The mount I kind of like right now is the Joe Meder full sneak with a right turn. Here is the image I liked most

It's a narrow rack and fairly tall, most full sneak mounts I'm seeing are fairly wide racked. All opinions are welcome, I'm struggling with whether I should stick with one similar to the current one or not.

Here's the current one that could go on the same wall.

The decision's ultimately mine, but I'm open to suggestions/ideas.

I personally like the pedestal mount!

I think the sneak mounts look best with the wide bucks and the taller, narrow bucks look better in an upright pose.

That was my initial thought. I couldn't find a narrower rack in a full sneak, that's one of the main reasons I posted this. I dont want to see another mount that looks great, but wont suit my particular deer. First thought was a right turn semi sneak so I could put them on the same wall and relatively the same height. I think a full upright would be too tall, just in case I keep them in the basement. I'll have to talk to the taxidermist to see just how much he can alter a form. I know for sure that I don't want a straight forward mount.

I had my biggest deer mounted the way he was when I saw him come walking through the woods, head up and at full strut, letting everyone know that this was HIS territory.

For some reason, I'm not a fan of the pedestal mounts, but can't put my finger on just why. Yeah, I know, that wasn't any help to you.

Ditto. Another option to possibly consider, a euro mount on a wall pedastal.

Thanks guys, think I'm going to go with another semi sneak. That was my first thought, and then I started thinking. Usually that's when I get off track. I'm going to the taxidermist tomorrow after I hunt to talk it over with him.

Might want to think about having the ears folded back a little bit since it is a narrow racked buck. Really show off that rack.

Personally I would give my taxi the deer and tell him to do what pose he thinks is best for that type of deer.
The only yhing I ever request is the turn on it if I have a spot picked out for the mount already.

If putting it on the same wall I'm a fan of the opposite turn so they're both turning into the center of the wall. Looks great. I'm also with the idea wide racks look better on the sneak, but that buck that you got has the style I absolutely love and have never been able to get (I've taken great bucks, but none thick, tall and baskety!)...I think it'll look good no matter but my vote goes mirror image of other one.

That is one of the first questions I will have for him. I'm sure every taxidermist has that favorite pose that they can nail every time. I'll post up he finished mount when I get him back. I haven't decided on anything or ruled anything out yet. Hopefully he'll have some finished pictures with narrower racks to help me see he end result.
