I saw these refurbed moultrie cameras for what seems to be a decent price. What do you think of these cameras and do you think the refurbs would be ok? What do you think of the d-55 camera, thats the one I'm leaning toward due to the 30 price tag

    Heres the site

I think refurbs would be ok but I would stick with their later generation cams.

I own and use the D-55 (white flash) & D-55IRXT. The D-55 is one of the best cameras I have owned. It has been in the field over (3) years with nothing ever breaking. The negative with this Moultrie camera is the fact that it uses "D" batteris. I use this camera in a lightly used area looking for specific deer instead of an area where I would have a ton of pictures because of the batteries. The D-55IRXT is also a great camera. It is not white flash and has a better trigger speed and can be used for video. If you have an area where you will be getting over 200 pictures in a week I would save the money and go with a M-880. (Not an M-800 or M-80.) The new M-880's are the best camera on the market for the money.

The first set of pics is from the D-55, then the D-55IRXT. I do not work in the industry and am not a hunting pro, I just do this for fun.

I was also wondering if anyone has had any luck with these also? Great price but would they last 1-2 years?

I tried most all of them and my favorite is the m80/m100 and I think the i40 takes the best daytime pictures out of anything Moultrie makes to this day.

I had a few d55ir's and one i35 and sold them off. I still got a 2007 i40 and sold 2 of them off.

Ya they "worked" , but slow trigger, ok on batteries, deer spooking machines and I felt missed a ton of stuff. But at $30 for the i35 and you like Moultries then have at it you wont find a better deal.

I have 2 and they work great, they looked fairly close to new, but in reality they are already hung on trees so looks really don't matter anymore cause they ain't here for me to look at anymore:-)
