Anyone else have any Moultrie I40 cams that the LCD screen has gone out on. I have 2 like that now. Makes it hard to set the date and time as well as see battery life and how many pics it has taken.

Had that problem with two Moultrie I60 and two Moultrie I40's... be thankful that they are working for now... mine stayed that way for awhile and then started taking pictures where the colors we neon green and purple before finally just kicking the bucket.

I've owned four different Moultries, all of the had the LCD screen go out. (three D40's and an M40)

I've heard you can send them back to Moultrie and they'll fix them, but it takes forever (thats IF you can get a hold of costumer service). Thats just word of mouth and internet forums talking though.

Ive had 3 moultries and have sent back 3 moultries in 3 years. When I get the next one they send back I'm taking it to Cabelas to get instore credit and buying a cuddeback. Moultire's had their chance to get their poop in a group and they have failed. They do have pretty good customer service and have sent me back new cams but they still go to crap after one season.

(try calling customer service early in the morning. You will still have to wait a bit but you will get through)

Yes, but mine was because it got wet. I opened the lid and a bunch of water came out. But, since it's dried it's began working again. Yeah, utilizing the camera for what it's intended is impossible w/out the use of that screen.

I had two I-40s for three years and never had that problem but I know of some who did. You can contact Moultrie and they will send new screens to you for free, you just have to install them, which I have read is not too difficult. I still think they take the best pics of any commercial cam ot there. Hope you get things worked out.

    Blessings.....Pastorjim

I've had my I40 for 4 years now. I will finally have to change the first set of batteries out. Never had any problems at all with it. Keep us informed what happens (whether or not Moultrie fixes it)

Contact Moultrie Customer Service. I did when my screen went out. I told them I didn't have a receipt and they still told me to ship it back to them. Cost me around 8 bucks to ship it to them. 2 weeks later I had a brand new one at my door. http://www.moultriefeeders.com/

i just recently sent in a d40 out of warranty to Moultrie that would not come out of sleep mode once I set it up. Moultrie sent it back and said it would be cheaper to buy a new one as they are only 70 bucks on their website. It says that they are refurbished but on the phone they told me they were new.I believe the I40's are around $119.For some reason I thought I could fix it by being rough with it.I smacked it around a little and now it works. I tested it for a couple of days and it would still work.I just set it out this afternoon so in a week I will see if my repairs worked or not.

I have had the screen go out twice and they replaced the cam w a new one each time. I did not have the receipt but it did not matter.

I just sent them an email with a link to this post to let them know that is a major problem and they need to do something. I'll let you know what they have to say when I hear back from them.

Well I heard back from Moultrie yesterday. They said if my units are less than 1 year old they are covered under warranty, I can send them back and they will replace them with new ones. If older than 1 year, I can send it in and they will replace the LCD or they will send me the new displays and I can replace them myself. I checked, 2 of my cameras are exactly 1 year old and 1 is older. I'm not sure if I can find the receipts, so I may just have them send me the LCDs and do it myself. That way my cameras won't be out of the woods for long either.

Thanks a lot Mueller, you cursed me! Went to check my i40 this weekend and the LCD screen went belly up on me. It shows every 3rd or 4th line and that's it.

On top of that, the stupid thing is taking blank images like it's going out of style. Had it out for two weeks and not 1 deer photo!

    Bah

Just sent my I-40 in today after the digital screen went blank. It is kind of funny how this stuff works. I bragged about not having any problems and then the camera stops working.
