I just bought a moultrie I40 digital camera and it takes good pictures but ihave missed several deer that have walked by it. I noticed that it can take up to 13 seconds for the camera to trigger to take the first picture. Is there a setting i can change to fix this or is this the norm for this camera? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

The I-40 is not the fastest triggering camera on the market but it won't take 13 seconds to trigger. If you have it close to a trail pointing across it, you will miss deer or get their butts. It's better suited for feeders or scrapes where the deer will stop for a bit. Or you could point it down the trail so the deer is in the frame for a longer time.

I have an I-40 and I use it on trails all the time. It certainly isn't the quickest camera out there but it doesn't take 13 seconds to trigger.

If you are using it on a trail, try pointing it down the trail, instead of across it. This works way better.
