I already have 2 Captures (1 IR and another Flash). I can't say enough good things about them.

I am getting ready to buy another here at BH.com, and saw that the Moultrie I-40 is about 30 bucks less. Just wondering if any of you that have used both can give me a little insight on which one to go with. If the Capture is hands down better than the I-40 I have no problem spending a few more bucks for better quality.

I have no experience with cuddeback, but my I40 has been tremendously dependable for me. I don't have anything abd to say about it. I think it was worth every cent.

I have heard of problems with the IR being triggered during low light conditions at dawn/dusk, when it should just be taking a normal picture. The result being a plain whiteout picture. Any experience with this?

I have heard they are a decent camera. Slower trigger speed than the cuddeback for sure. Unless your on a lick you may lose a few pictures where in my experience the cuddeback catches everything. But it is also double the price. If money is a issue I would have no problems trying a Moultrie. I personally don't like any IR they scare deer just the same.

My 2007 Moultrie has been a good cam, but Moultrie quality can no longer be trusted IMO. I would go with new Bushnell.

    Cuddeback Capture,

You already know how awesome they are, so why risk the I40? :D

All the pics that I have posted here are from an I40. I have never used the capture but I dont have any problems with my I40. I put them out in early July and checked them last week and the batterys were at 79 and 80%. Id say thats really good. I think they take great pictures, but thats the only camera I have owned.

I have not had any whiteout pictures before, but sometimes it uses the IR when I think it should be using the normal mode. It will take pictures when it is light outside, but use the IR.

DON'T EVER BUY A MOUTRIE AGAIN!!!!!!

Learn from me wasting my money on two of them. They are great when they work. I said WHEN. Most unreliable piece of crap I have bought in a long time. Video doesn't work, mounting system broke, leaks water, should I go on?

Get a Cuddeback (I sound like their commercial) .

    I40

Have several of the older Cuddebacks (Expert and Excites), and have had no problems. I bought an I-40 this year and have had good luck with it. A couple things I don't like about it: it is bulkier and more ackward to hang than the Cuddes, there are more screws to get the SD cards out, and I have had problems with whiteout pics. I called Moultie about that and they pretty much said there was not enough light getting to the camera. Whatever, it didn't happen much. However, the battery life is awesome. I have had the same batteries in since early July and am still at 60% or higher with probably 1,000 pics taken. The trigger speed is good too.

-My I-40 display screen is screwed up, I just know how to use it without seeing what it says. lol.
