So I bought 2 Moultrie M-550's a few months back. The past few weeks I have noticed the night pictures were very dark. To the point where you couldn't see a deer 10' in front of the camera. I did a firmware update and made sure the IR flash was on the highest setting. Still nothing helps. Is there anything else I can do before I send it back to Moultrie?

I have an 880 that started taking black pictures at night after a bear gave it a nudge. No physical signs of damage on the case though. the LEDs are lighting, haven't compared them to another camera to see if the brightness and everything appears the same.

Sounds like a battery issue to me.

it may help if you have them set in cover. open field often do that.

Batteries are brand new. I can see where pictures might be dark on field edges but this is worse than normal. I'll post a pic once I get out of class.

My buddy and I both bought 2 each. Store had them on sale for $55. The other 3 were having the same issue until I did the firmware update. This was the only one that is still acting up which leads me to believe it isn't something I can fix.
