My gf just got me this cam. Heard some pretty bad reviews on it but i dont want to upset her and bring it back. Does anyone have this cam? Good or bad?

This d55irxt camera I was told by a Moultrie rep is the "older d55IR guts in a smaller case".

    I had a d55ir from 2010 and it was the only Moultrie cam I didnt care for and sold. I have 2 i40's from 2007 and 2009, 2 m80's.
Too me it seemed it like it was missing alot of deer. It did the job and alot of people had them. Battery life seemed decent, day pictures were great and night pictures were ok.

I havent heard much on the d55irxt, my thought is 20-30 more dollars you can have yourself a M80 which will blow that camera away.

If it is a gift and you dont want to offend her try it out. Never know you might like it. I think it has more LEDS then the older d55ir.

And looking on ebay at a auction, a seller has sold almost 500 of them, so it cant be that bad :)

    Keep us updated.

I have an older I-40. It's OK but I hate that it only takes 5 sec video at night...even on the 15 sec setting.I've heard the new Moultries are the same. Now here's the best piece of advice, If you have a GF that buys you hunting gear, she will be around longer that the trailcam....be smart, keep the cam and you will keep both.

I have has such bad luck with d-cell and c-cell cams with battery life. run some walk by test in your yard first and find out what setting work best for the cam,and how far it will trigger. some cams are lucky to get 20 feet just saying know your cam.
