So after 2 months in the field, my D55-IR has decided to take 10 sec videos at night instead of the programed 30 sec video. I'm not sure why and I've checked the settings. My daytime videos are still running 30 sec so I'm not sure what the deal is. Has anyone else run into a similar issue? THose with Moultrie Customer Service experience, if I send the camera in for warranty work, how long will the camera be out of commission? Thanks ahead of time. ~NB
salesman @ bassspro told me how good this cam was but a salesman @ another store was more honest and told me how many are being returned to there store for problems I have 2 moultrie d40 cams with horrible battery life and slow wake up speeds they are discontinued but they are on shelf's at every sporting goods stores around .. big bulky d-battery eating
I have the d-55IR and love it, i have had it out for the last 2 months and have taken over 500 pics with 85% battery life still left.... Yes the trigger speed are a bit slow but once you understand that and adjust your camera i have an animal in every picture. as far as your problem with the video! how is your battery life i hear that if it starts to get low things like that tend to happen or a ton of black pictures tend to appear? if that is not the problem i would send it back. Good luck to you, be safe this season!
We have both a D55 and D55IR and one thing we are noticing is the battery life indicator is definately not 100% accurate. We just had a similar issue with the D55 flash not going off at night. Been working fine all summer. Battery says 55%. I opened the battery compartment and realized that these were from like June. Haven't taken the time to switch them out yet but I am sure that is the problem. They're good enough for daytime just not enought to power the flash. So good news is the batteries lasted since June - bad news is the level meter is lying. Have you put fresh batteries in it?
I have a d-55ir that's been in woods for about 2 months everything was working fine until i checked out pics this past weekend the last pic was on the 15th, then it seems batteries died. I change out batteries and put different sd card in, now it says no card i put old card back in and it says same thing. Anyone else have this problem going to call later today.
