It literally took 25 pictures of nothing, yet it did not take a picture of the deer that was standing in front of it "saw it's fresh tracks" after I put out some food right on a trail? Thinking I should take this damn thing back and spend a little more money. Also I have an old wildgame Innovations S2.. The damn thing has an SD card slot it in, I let it hang for two weeks and come back to dead batteries.. Come to find out it does not operate when an SD card is installed... what a POS.
Moultries = FAIL So many people explaining same problem lately with these cams. I had same issue and ended up sending my cams back just to receive two "NEW" cameras that didn't work after 2 days. Good Luck, Hopefully warranty covers you
The A5 is one of the cheapest cameras you can get. I would recommend them only on food plot situations where deer won't be moving very fast. It has a larger detection range than its field of view which means the camera will take a picture before the deer is in the picture. After it takes a picture then it takes a whole 62 seconds before it can take another which is honestly terrible. here's a site that reviews most of the trail cameras. 2014 Moultrie A-5 Review | Game Camera if you spend a lil more money you can get a nice stealth or browning but just depends on your needs!
I have to agree with the others, the A5 is not one of the better cameras out there but you still should make sure there is no foliage moving in front of the camera or it's not facing directly into the sunrise/sunset. Blessings.......Pastorjim
Well my stepfather offered to let me use three of his cam's, he has some really good ones that will even send pics to my phone, So I'm going to go snatch that one off the tree and take it back.. I don't like how it operates regardless, and the fact it takes random pictures and has a 1+ minute delay is just not so good, say a doe runs by and a big buck follows it takes picture of the doe and not the buck? that would infuriate me ;P
I run an A5 in a food plot that I know will catch deer standing still. If I had to guess the deer was not in the frame long enough for the camera to trigger and take the picture. Also one of the things that happens is you don't notice a limb or think a plant won't be tall enough to worry about and then when you go check your camera you have 400 pics of nothing but wavy plants
