I'm doing another fishing fly-in Canada trip in June. When I was much younger I could easily handle roller coasters but as I've grown older I've had issues vomiting during the flight on the small planes we fly in. Some of the lakes we fly into are over an hour flight. We usually fly out first thing in the morning so I don't eat breakfast. I sit by an air vent that blows cool air on my face and don't look out the window. It's been suggested to me to watch the horizon and that didn't seem to work. For drugs I've tried Dramamine and Bonine. They may help a little but I still feel queezy and sometimes vomit. I've researched the bands for your wrist and a patch or drops you put behind your ears but have not tried them. Any advice on what I should try?
The best thing I know of that you can do for motion sickness when Dramamine or other things don't help is to simply close your eyes and put your head in your lap. Don't look at a horizon or anything that keeps your brain thinking about shaking and moving to much. Best to close your eyes tuck your head.
Go the ear patch route. My dad and I both have the same problem with motion sickness and the only thing that works well is the ear patch. You put it on the night before and you'll have no problems during your flight. The only side effect is dry mouth, but you will have an enjoyable flight.
