The baby excuse is easily the most underrated thing about being a parent. It's such a non debatable built in excuse for everything. Co-worker I don't really like that much: "Hey man, want to come and watch the game with my friends this weekend?" Me: "Sorry man, can't do it, you know, with the baby and all" Wife: "Hey babe, you think we can go to Stacey's shower/wedding/stupid whatever thing?" Me: "I would love to, babe, but don't you think that might be a little hard for the baby? You know how she gets when you mess up her routine.." Wife: "Hey babe, want to go shopping today?" Me: "Remember last time we tried to shopping with the baby? It's just too much of a hassle."
Problem there is it turns into not being able to do something you want to because you have to watch the kid. But it's all good Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk 2
Hey, honey do you mind if I slip out this evening for a hunt? "well, you know hard hard it is for me to get the baby to bed without your help....." Oh wait, you don't hunt. I forgot
Wife: Hey honey, do you want to go grocery shopping? Me: No. but if your going into town take the baby so I can get some target practice in. Boss: I need you to go to a trade show this weekend. Me: Sorry, I don't have a babysitter... Friends: Want to get together for the superbowl? Me&wife: Hell yeah...we'll bring the pack and play.
You are soooooo right.....even though it can come back on you sometimes it is a priceless excuse when needed and it always ends the conversation immediately with no hard feelings Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk 2
