I dont even think it is even close over 20 million a year for a guy who cant hit 40 homeruns if you added his last 5 seasons together and batting average going down Joe Mauer is incredibly over paid.

Vernon Wells has to be high on the list for overpaid. Most over rated to me is Brian Wilson.

Joe has certainly fell off fast but those first 5 years he was amazing for a catcher.

But his last 5 years he is average at best with no power and we are paying him like a 40 homer a year player.

Nick Swisher. $14 million to bat .200 with little pop, a bum knee and can't play the field

Mike Hampton was a huge disappointment, but B.J. Upton was a complete joke.

He went from batting 300's to mid 200's since he stopped juicing that's just an average major league player in my book

Albert Belle. I think the O's are still paying him in some sort of fashion.

There's a ton recent players that could be thrown out. Josh Hamilton comes to mind.

He's a good baseball player but can't stay healthy and the possibility of relapse is always there.

Ryan Howard, Melvin Upton come to mind first. Mauer is overpaid, but at least he's sort of worth something. Texeira is another one, although he is having a decent year

The Twins could have another legit starter for what Mauer is making.

Kevin Brown and his $100 million contract for the Yankees. Biggest joke of an trade I can remember. I hope they at least made him clean the bathrooms or mop the hallways of the stadium.
