    As great as this was

It couldn't touch the feelings I experienced this deer season...best yet...oldest got his first deer during youth season

And followed it up with first buck during regular gun season - with both my second oldest and me in the buddy stand with him

And capped the bow season off with the two youngest in the stand with me...nearly got a doe...but more importantly we had a blast!

Both older boys will have tags this fall...and with younger daughter/son coming up in the ranks...the best is yet to come!

I was hunting with my Dad the day before my Birthday. He finally shot his first buck ever. He's 65 yrs old. Big bodied deer with nice rack. Taxi estimated him at 5 1/2. Dad was almost floating on air!! What a wonderful thing it is to get to share an experience like that with someone I admire so much :)

This is a great thread... You have me smiling thinking about all the great times I spent in the field last year, and I didn't even kill a buck last year. Trying to pick just one, tough!

Getting the chance to hunt Kansas and to top it off with a friend of mine. Didn't connect but it was a trip I'll always remember.

Getting a deer after a several year drought and getting to share the recovery with my girlfriend and a few close friends. Also being able to almost get the entire hunt on film. Can view it on my youtube page in my signature!

Mine was definitely taking my biggest buck to date with a bow in Missouri. But because the entire season was my best ever, its a hard decision.

Great thread and some great memories shared!
I'd have to say for me it was calling my shot, predicting I'd kill a doe on opening day, and getting it on film.

    EDIT:

Well, killed 3 deer this past year! That was rather fantastic, can't get much better than that! Wife is really happy we have a lot of meat in the freezer.

always being in the wrong stand at the wrong time. but still seen more bucks than all my previous years combined. finally figuring this place out. hope it means good things ahead.

and almost forgot. taking my 3 year old out turkey hunting for the first time. I let him pick where to go, where to sit, and even let him do all the calling with the box call. he was so excited. I even gave in and let him carry his bb gun. us out hunting that day tops all other hunts and still love to look at our picture hunting that day. I know he will cherish having that picture and memory for many years.

My most memorable moment was when I climbed up in a stand only to get up and move to my next one down about 30 yards. 12 deer ended up walking by my shooting lanes in the stand I climbed down from. It was the only time I saw the monster 10 I was dying to shoot all year besides on trail cams. A close second is when I spot and stalked hunted a group of does and stalked them from 200 yards out, ended up at 45 and had them spook when I got to full draw.

I had the season of a lifetime this year and got 4 deer! But my most memorable moment was rattling and grunting in my 171 7/8" 15 point buck! It all went down just like you see in the videos! Passed on a lot of bucks, that I normally would've shot in the past, because I wanted something mature...and I got it! I appreciate every opportunity I have to harvest deer but I'll be taking this memory with me to the grave!

My most memorable was my first sit after completing my enlistment in the Marine Corps and moving back to Wisconsin, I sat with my dad and he filmed me smoking a doe at 38 yards. Yes it was all on film but is it possible to tell threw the blur and shakiness....absolutely not but there is no way I will ever in a million years forget how he just looked at me and said good shot code.

Mine would have to be opening day of gun season here in Wisconsin. I know it's not archery related but I lost my grandpa on October 1st and he was the man who got a fire going in me for deer hunting. Opening day of gun season also happened to be my birthday and within the first hour I shot a doe. That afternoon I was able to shoot a 3.5 year old 11 pointer that was on our hit-list. It had been tough to even go hunting knowing my grandpa was gone but I know that day he was looking down on me with a big smile on his face.
