Most broadheads increase the length of the arrow and I believe this creates a slight change of impact even though your bow may be tuned very well. Even though the FT's and the BH's weigh the same I think the longer BH's may change the "harmonic" action of the arrow as it fly's. Have you guys ever heard of this?
You may be on to something....but it is probably over my head My arrows are short as it is. I think they are flying fast enough that it is not going to affect it enough to matter. As long as they are hitting the same spot, I consider that an accomplishment in itself. That is good enough for me:d
When I change the length of my arrow from 28.5" to 29" to reflect the approx. 1/2" extra of the broadhead it change my FOC from 13.53% to 13.4%. I doubt any archer that posts in these forums can detect this minute difference.
yeah i just make sure im hitting the target to my satisfaction, that then boost my confidence, with a ton of practice and im good to go!
I shouldn't say this but..... My bow game with 28" carbon arrows....tuned to my bow..... I bought some Walmart arrows that are 31"....for practise...and am going to get them cut. So I have a total of 8 arrows I use to practise. 1 28" 7 31" all Carbon but 3 different brands. Now here is the part that is a bit unexpected....If I seperate the three different brands and shoot them...they group together in slightly different spots... If I jumble them together and don't pay attention to which arrow I'm shooting they all group dead on together. Soooooo, I'm thinking shooting is mostly mental and not so much technical.... Shhhhhh, Don't tell anyone I said that. SB
if the broadhead flexed with the arrow i'd agree, since it is stone stiff I don't think it'll affect it at all...
