I would not leave home without it lol.....Get the Autumn Scented pads if you are too worried about scent. The deer never seemed to mind the smell of the regular but I know for a fact the Autumn scented one work really well!!!

I Totally Agree. I will not go in the woods and hunt without it when skeeters are out. As far as the not working with a breeze, I just watch the wind and hang it in the direction that blows it towards me. We had one fall on the ground one day and a doe walked up a while later and smelled it and totally ignored it.

They work great but I haven't needed them the last 2 years due to lack of rain.

I've been thinking about picking one up, but the costs to run it after the initial purchase looks like it would add up. Also another reason why I haven't gotten one is because of exactly what peakrut said; our last few falls have been so dry around here that I don't remember the last time I had any problem with mosqitos at all.

No doubt Thermacell : down south mosquitoes look like small helicopters they're so big , I have seen them recently with small mounts so you can put your own scent on them , they mount over existing heat element or just above it so it can heat your scent so it carries further and doesnt interfere with repellant.

Wrong. It is supposed to last for 6 washings. But during the heat of early season most people never hunt 6 times without washing their clothes due to sweat.

Another vote for Sawyer Permethrin. I've been using it for years with great success...espicially on a breezy day. Thermacell isn't worth a hoot if the wind is blowing and the skeeters are still flying.
