I would rather climb up at 10 am and sit the rest of the day than hunt a morning in late season.

It's kinda a catch 22 for me. My best stands are on the edges of my plots so I'm either running the risk of bumping them coming in on morning hunts, or bumping them getting out on evening hunts. The biggest issue I have in the morning is bumping deer out of the hay field behind the house. Once I get into the timber, I can drop down in a drainage ditch and get to a couple stands pretty quietly.

They generally are not in my plots in the morning because they have been out in the big ag fields that surround my place. They will generally come through in the first hour or so of light as they are making their way back to bedding.

I hunt 75/25 mornings vs afternoons. I see similar amounts of deer either way but you have to know which stands are better for one vs the other. I hesitate to shoot deer in the late afternoon because I don't want to track them in the dark and its not always cold enough to wait until morning to retrieve them. I'm pretty much hunting for wall hangers in the afternoon unless I catch a doe a few hours before dark.
