So, the lease I'm hunting this year has only two access points that are great for evening stands near food. Although, hunting in the morning where the deer are bedding is impossible to get to as I'd have to walk right through where they will be feeding. My only options for this land seem to be only evenings that provide the right wind, but mornings are so much more feasible for me. Have you guys had luck hunting evening spots in the mornings? Seems to be my only option this year...

Before prerut don't hunt mornings. Once prerut starts go in way before daylight and stay all day

I've had success hunting travel corridors near bedding areas in late mornings during the rut, regardless of food. Some success hunting doe pre-rut. You have to sneak in...don't have to be 100% quiet..but if you make noise you have to sound like a deer.

All my pictures have them coming in around 0300 and leaving around 0630-7. There is no way I can't beat them to the stand unless I get there by 2am. For the first time in years, I'm going to wait until the afternoons for the early season until they change their pattern.

why not get there at 2 AM? it's totally worth it when it gets light and your in the belly of the beast. Once I know where my target is at and when its there, I make the changes to adapt to the deer not the other way around. However, it is early in the season. they will be changing patterns shortly. I've gotten in my stand as early as 12 AM at times. because I would have pics from my trail camera or simply walked in on the deer later. Honestly, Its all about how bad you want to experience the action. I for one would love to follow a live thread from you if you choose to set up at 2 AM, especially when you start hearing things creeping in the dark. Nothing to me is more exciting then trying to figure out which noise is that trophy buck. best of luck to you

Funny thing, a few years ago I woke up at 0200 opening morning and knew I couldn't go back to sleep for 2 more hours, so I took my time and was in the stand by 0300 (I don't have far to go). By 7 am, I was ready to go back to sleep. Also, it's so boring not being able to see anything for 4 hours, I get a little fidgety, if it happens again on opening day, I may give it a shot. I'll even give some live from the stand input, even though it may be hard with a little light floating in a tree.
