I was sitting on the throne this morning thinking. Every morning like clockwork I take my usual morning crap. Usually after a couple cups of coffee, browsing the internet, etc.. The gurgle in my stomach is apparent when I first wake up and then escalates until BAM have to go. 98% of the time this is the routine. My thought this morning is why does this happen? Why doesn't your body need to wake up during the middle of the night to crap? Why is it within the first 45 minutes of after being up and awake. If there is something in your gut that makes you need to crap, wouldn't you need to crap just the same while sleeping? Do you need to crap while sleeping and just arent aware? I'm not complaining by no means because I actually enjoy the routine I've adopted (especially when out of lysol and savour the moment). Was just wondering how the mind and body work sometimes. Puzzling to me.
This ^^^^^^ Plus the fact that you were in a dormant unmoving state for a period of time, while asleep, and when you start moving again things start shifting and moving right along with you.
How do you explain that when you are at a primitive hunting camp or someplace else without comfortable accommodations that your body holds it naturally? Then when you get someplace more "comfortable" you get the poop urge like bad. Every year when I get home from grouse camp the first thing I need to do after kissing my wife is hit the throne for like a good 30 minutes to "Clean out".
To the OP I'm thankful that the urge doesn't come while sleeping, it could ruin a good nights rest, or for a deep sleeper it could ruin a set of sheets. Also, the morning urge you experience is probably, like others have stated, related to the caffeine being a gastrointestinal stimulant.
Very interesting as well! I was going to add that to the original post. Strange how anything out of the "ordinary" triggers a non morning dump response. If I have something different to do that breaks my morning routine, it directly effects my morning dump or lack thereof. Weird stuff. I could drink coffee, internet, etc.. everything I typically do, but if I'm doing something different that morning (like getting to go ready to go fishing or early golf round) .... POOF no dump. I need an explanation on that one.
I've had the urge wake me up many times, but it was usually the result of too many tacos the night before.
