I wonder what temper tantrum the Democrats might pull if they lose the White House? Riots? Shoot more police? Threats?

Probably the same one republicans have been pulling since Obama took office.

Don't act as if one side is any different than the other. It's time for some compromise and honest discussion in this country, and neither side seems willing to do so.

You've got to be kidding...the only thing republicans have done is whine and moan. If Trump wins the democrats will probably riot across the country.

Kidding about what? What part of my post is so difficult for your feeble mind to grasp?

Yeah, republicans have whined and moaned since Obama took office, which is the same thing the democrats will do if Trump is elected. Do you really think there will be some widespread riots?

Pull your head out of the sand and realized that "your side" is really no better/different than the other.

Who is behind the violence at the Trump rallies? Who pays the professional protesters? Probably not those extreme libertarians.

Both sides are cut from the same cloth. All the republicans have done is compromise. They are just as much to blame, if not more than the democrats. The LAST thing they need to do is compromise. They need to almost completely clean house, regroup, and get a basic set of principles that they agree on (hopefully conservative/libertarian ones) and then leave the hot topic stuff at the door. Kick anyone out of the party who doesn't agree with the basic set of principles and then stick to them and be honest.

As a caveat, the Republican Party basically kicked Theodore Roosevelt out of the party, too. Different times, but in the end, I don't feel that much has changed

Compromise? Compromise is what has gotten us into the trouble we are in. Easy example would be the 2nd amendment.

One side wants to take away a portion of the right to bear arms. The other side doesn't want to give up any of that right.

What does Compromise result in? Giving up a portion of those rights. Maybe not as much as they wanted in the first place but if we compromise all the time, before long there won't be anything left.

Its time to quit compromising and giving in and instead do what is right for the country.

So both sides should refuse to compromise then? Or do you want republicans to hold their ground and democrats to compromise? Refusing to discuss issues and come to an agreement (ie, compromise) is childish, and accomplishes nothing.

And you're literally talking about ONE issue. There are MANY issues other than the 2nd Amendment that could be worked on together, to reach a solution.

When did this country become so divided that people couldn't disagree with one another and still work together? America is a melting pot of ideas and that's part of what made it "great".

Like it or not, real change will most likely happen in our lifetime. I'm sure that thought drives some of you guys nuts, but millennials have already shown that they will not tolerate the 2 party establishment. You can already see that happening with many millennials flocking to Bernie Sanders and Gary Johnson. The guys on here screaming stuff like "a vote for Gary Johnson is a vote for Hilary" are not only bad at basic math, but are also the ones preventing meaningful change from happening.

All we have been accomplishing with compromise is getting part of differing ideas. And for the most, its been the bad parts.

Want another example of the crap compromise results in Obamacare. It is a compromise between private and socialized and it is an piece of crap. We would have been better if Democrats didn't compromise and went full blown socialize medicine. and we would be better if it was Full Open Market capitalism. It is the compromise that has turned our medical system into crap.

Compromising with socialists just ends up being a lessor degree of socialism. Why don't the democrats just give up socialism?

You may be right to an extent. Although it's probably more of a reflection of the politicians representing us than the voters on each side.
