I attended a lecture by Dr. Lenny Bernstein a few years ago which convinced me of the human impact on climate change. Dr. B was one of the first folks that started to talk about global warming back in the 70s when he worked for shell. Now he's got a Nobel prize. Smart guy who can back his argument with facts and data....
Whos to say they are facts? Global warming, religion, rage broadheads....nobody on earth knows the truth about them. That IS a fact. Sent from my SCH-I510 using Tapatalk 2
Smart guy that can pick his facts and data to skew it his way. Honestly, same goes for both sides. Edit: Caleb has it right.
Hey, just saying we can measure the amount of emissions we put into the air and have been able to do so now for some period of time. It's a fact that they have increased. Mainly in China and other developing countries. I'm sure that warming is cyclical, but there's no doubt, at least in my mind, that people have accelerated it. Increased emissions and their effect are facts...
Wonder why this isn't all over the national media? :D Obama was asked to return his Nobel prize. http://www.thefinaledition.com/article/nobel-committee-asks-obama-nicely-to-return-peace-prize.html sent from my samsung note 2
What I love about this topic, especially on this very conservative forum, is no matter the studies or countless scientific articles that suggest global warming is directly related to man made emissions, its thrown out so easily that its a "cycle." Personally, I can't see how pumping back into the atmosphere in a century or two carbon that took millions of years to accumulate in the Earth can be harmless. I would bet that the correlation between global warming denialism and religion, go hand in hand. I only say this because it is very puzzling that people so easily take the Bible as being the book of God so literally (even though it's nonsense) but just throw out the scientific world as having a hidden agenda in terms of global warming. I also find it ironic that some individuals in the hunting community, who work the land, help the environment and "are one with nature" can't be budged in believing that humans are negatively affecting the planet. It's very unfortunate but to each his own.
You fail to realize or accept there is as much evidence against as there is for. It is just more money grabbing "science" You have to be careful with scientific studies. Follow the money trail and that typically leads to the truth. I believe in science, just have learned over the years that you have to accept much of it is purely for money. sent from my samsung note 2
Money, the scientists agenda and who is funding the studies agenda = science. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I came into the class as a complete non-believer. It didnt take long at all to realize I was wrong. There is almost unlimited evidence supporting it but everyone just decides to ignore it.
You could go into a class against man made global warming and come out just as convinced that it isn't man made. sent from my samsung note 2
It has nothing to do with the teacher. She taught this class from a completely factual based perspective. She did nothing to sway our opinions one way or the other... basically it was just here are the facts, this is what is happening, here is the indisputable data that backs it up.
The link I posted earlier shows over 31000 scientist, over 9000 of which holds phd's in science say global warming is not man made. Yet we have a couple hundred that say its man made and they are the ones we are supposed to believe. Again, follow the money trail. sent from my samsung note 2
Even the original chart shows a warming trend long before there was much impact by humans on the environment No one is saying pollution isn't bad, just that it isnt causing the warming trends we are seeing today. sent from my samsung note 2
Would anyone want to pump the stuff we do in the atmosphere in your home and breath it? Humans have been affecting nature for a long time, and we will keep do so. Some good some bad
No question about it. Polution is destructive, especially to humans but saying it changes weather patterns is just not possible imo and many scientist opinions. Especially when weather patterns have been changing since the beggining of time, regardless if humans are here or not. Hell, the equator used to run about where illinois is now. Humans did not change that, nature did. sent from my samsung note 2
