Nope! I never said that. Here is what I did say so that you might know what I said. 1. Nothing good comes from walking the streets at 2:15 am after hitting the bars. How about fun? 2. Dont put yourself in the situation and your odds improve. He should probably give up football as well then. 3. making better choices would have prevented this from both the attackers side and the victims side. Could say that about anything. 4. if he made better choices, he would not have a lump on his noggin today. See #3. 5. Dont put yourself in such a position and you wont have the likelihood of getting jumped. See #4 & #3. Perhaps he should never go outside so he is not in a position to get jumped. Maybe you should stop hunting so you don't put yourself in a position for a meth guy or wolf to jump you. That is what I said, I did not say what you typed and supposed I meant. I think I was abundantly clear. Yeah it's clear college students should make better choices by not closing out the bars. Sent from my SCH-I500 using Tapatalk
I think I can agree with your opinion on this. I think Montee would agree as well and wishes you would have reached him sooner.
Everyone knows the correct thing for college kids to do, is stay home and hire strippers. That way when a stripper falsely accuses you of rape, you can cry about a huge injustice. Then, you can sue the college because your daddy is rich. Those white boys, they just can't stay away from those black strippers. Generalizations and stereotypes are fun.
So I guess we are back to your position is that college kids should not close out the bars. Just checking. :-) Did you go to college RC? Sent from my SCH-I500 using Tapatalk
It was your position and statement, not mine. I think you made a good point about college kids not closing the bars. I support your position on this matter and think you said it well. Yes. Right here in WI. One of my sons is the same age and Mr. Ball and is also in the UW system and has never once been jumped at 2:15 am so I guess some of my teaching stuck.
RC- I suppose you also think that if a girl is wearing an outfit that turns on some guy...its her fault if she gets raped because she should not have chosen that specific outfit?
You can suppose all you want but I never said such a thing or even implied that. Im not even sure where that is coming from and is really off topic of this thread. I would realy rather we stay on topic. I should also say that my son (who is the same age as Mr ball) and is also in the UW system was a football player until an injury destroyed his football paying days. Screws, pins, bone grafts and more than a year of rehab put him off the game. Now he works with members of the GB Packers team and even the coaching staff teaching their kids how to swim at a few outlets. He goes to school and work and then to bed and wont be found on the street at 2:15 am on a Wednesday night since he has to get up early for work. On a side note, he told me the other day he was talking with GB Packers coach McCarthy as he is teaching the coaches daughter how to swim. He told me the names of all the players he knows and has met but I could only act impressed since I don’t watch TV or care about the Packers. He was in a hot tub with one player of note and they were sharing their knee scars and stories of surgery.
Actually its code for "What the heck are you even talking about?" or "We are talking about Mr. Ball getting jumped in the street?"
I know a guy that was never killed or injured by a gun because he was never traveled where they were. I know lots of people that never suffered injury at the hands of guns because they won't go around them. Sounds pretty dumb, doesn't it? I was shot by a 14 year old indian kid with a .30-06 at 20 yards while I was bowhunting back in 2000. The warden told me, "I know they're out there so I wear orange while I'm bowhunting." Like it was my fault. If you truly are the "Defender of all that is right and good" then you wouldn't be blaming the victim. Complete 180 from all your other views.
yes and someone we will not name brought up he was jumped because of his actions, and it was his actions that may have caused him to be jumped. You just lost of credibility here again with people, just keep deflecting
You are confusing “Blame” with “Responsibility” At no time did I say it was his fault. That is a misrepresentation others here have arrived at through their own error. If you put yourself in the situation Mr. Ball put himself, you bear some responsibility for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. I have maintained that better choices helps reduce the odds of suffering at the hands of bad guys. This was clearly avoidable for Mr. Ball. The bad guys that jumped him are at fault for their actions. They knowing did harm. Mr. Ball was a victim of those people but would not have been their victim if he would have been tucked into his bed.
There is always the situation of being at the wrong place at the wrong time. It doesn't have to be 2:15am outside a bar and unless your son sits in a secluded location 24/7, god forbid, he could end up being a "victim" someday. That was my point of a girl getting raped because of what she is wearing. You say if he were at home in bed, that wouldn't have happened. What if it happened in the afternoon when he was getting gas at a gas station. I mean...come on. A "victim" is just that. The shootings in a Colorado movie theater...all those people should have been at home in bed too? Just trying to prove a point. But, staying on topic here for your sake. I am a very responsible adult and on very rare ocassions I actually get the chance to go and hang out with my friends and has even consisted of having drinks at a bar and even stayed till bar close (proud of myself for staying up that late). So, you are telling me that if I were jumped leaving a bar at 2:15, well...sucks to be me because I should be at home in bed? I should also add that it wasn't in a back alley with homeless drug addicted people shooting craps either.
