http://espn.go.com/college-football...dgers-rb-montee-ball-victim-unprovoked-attack What the hell? The Big 10 is the new SEC Maybe now will get better and the SEC will suck. I hope the kid is alright, he seems to be pretty good kid
They just can't give up the "Clubbing Life" can they. 2:15 AM on the bar strip is just looking for trouble. Got the world on a string and they have to push it. Lucky he wasn't hurt worse. Lucky there were people around to run the hoods off. I can just see they had an altercation or words in one of the bars and.. POOF... you're an idiot.
^ This. Very little good comes from walking the streets after bar closing. Dont put yourself in such a position and you wont have the likelyhood of getting jumped.
I guess a young guy can't go out, have a few drinks, and talk to women without seeming like he is clubbing and looking for trouble.
Nobody said he cant but if he made better choices, he would not have a lump on his noggin today. Trouble found him because he put himself in a situation that was avoidable. Had he been in bed, at 2:15 in the morning, he would likely not have had this problem and the dirt bags that jumped him whould have had to find another person walking the streets at that hour.
Dude, how dare he be a college kid. That is what college kids do for better or worse. You could say he should not be doing about a million other things as well because he "could" get hurt. Bad luck. Nothing more. I hope Montee makes a full recovery. We are going to need him to run the ball down Meatchickens throat in the B10 championship game.
My sarcasm detector is beeping but I never know with you hook. . Sent from my SCH-I500 using Tapatalk
No one is saying that he can't go out. The coach would probably say he's not suppose to have the drinks. After 2 AM is pushing a sensible time. Hell, I went out all my young life every night... I didn't have these problems... but I wasn't "CLUBBING". these guys always seem to find a jackpot to get into. I didn't have what he has going for him as far as future earnings etc. I damn sure wouldn't have pushed the envelope like these jocks seem to do over and over and over and over. I mean, every year there are Plecisco Burras''s, Michael Vicks.. Ray Lewis and on and on and on. Yeh... you can go out and have a few drinks... if you're not driving and playing stupid. They seem to always beable to pass the stupid test. Lock a few more of them up and maybe it would stop. Oh... what was I thinking? Of course they won't stop... they error on the stupid side.
Hindsight is always 20/20. Football camp starts in a week. Give this amateur college student athlete a break Sent from my SCH-I500 using Tapatalk
This is foresight, not hindsight. Nothing good comes from walking the streets at 2:15 am after hitting the bars. He knew it. This will not have come as a shock to him. Lets hope that he uses this event as a learning experience. The odds are better that this would not have happened if he were to have headed home at 10:00 pm or earlier. Don’t put yourself in the situation and your odds improve. Has anybody considered that this was planned and perhaps the attackers are from some other school that will play WI in these football contests??? Some take these games seriously.
So your position is a college student is not supposed to close out the bars and walk home. Just want to make sure I understand you correct. Sent from my SCH-I500 using Tapatalk
Nope! I never said that. Here is what I did say so that you might know what I said. 1. Nothing good comes from walking the streets at 2:15 am after hitting the bars. 2. Don’t put yourself in the situation and your odds improve. 3. making better choices would have prevented this from both the attackers side and the victims side. 4. if he made better choices, he would not have a lump on his noggin today. 5. Don’t put yourself in such a position and you won’t have the likelihood of getting jumped. That is what I said, I did not say what you typed and “supposed” I meant. I think I was abundantly clear.
The kid did nothing wrong, so why are some blaming him? How liberal of some, don't blame those at fault, blame the person who did nothing wrong. Almost like blaming AK-47 for the shooting in CO, Ehhh?
You got it wrong too. My words were clear, my spelling perfect. How you got something else from those words escapes me.
Ok so you were not talking about me then. Thats good to know. Thanks for that. Based on your prior stalking of me, I jumped to that conclusion. My bad. You were talking about somebody else.
I know a guy that was never killed or injured by a drug addicted homeless man because he never traveled in their circles. I know lots of people that have never suffered injury at the hands of bad people because they didn’t put themselves in situations where chances increase for being harmed by bad people. Making good choices was the key. Logic insists that had Montee been home in bed at 2:15 am, he would not have been jumped by bad guys in the streets. He bears some responsibility for his situation based on his choices to be where he was, when he was. Its with great certainty that I can guarantee you I will never be knifed in a back ally while shooting craps. Likewise, I will never be jumped outside a bar at 2:15 am on a Wednesday morning. Why? Because I don’t put myself in a situation for that to happen. With age and experience comes maturity and good decision making. Montee got a life lesson to go with the bump on his noggin. Perhaps he will begin to make better choices to avoid putting himself in situation that increase the odds of being harmed by bad guys.
