Anyone familiar with the reservation land around Malta Montana? I have an opportunity to hunt private land on the reservation land there. Any help?

I've been in the area around it, the Missouri river breaks have some of the most highly coveted tags in the country. I can't speak for the reservation itself. Certainly hope that it's different than the Crow Res... where every living thing that isn't a horse, dog or turkey is killed throughout the year.

Assuming your talking about elk and mule deer, the units around the reservation are 600 units, the elk hunting is decent to good however the pressure is very high as the tags are very easy to draw, same goes for elk tags in the breaks. The units to the west of the reservation have access issues unless you have private permission. A good bull in the 600 units would 300-320 , most will smaller though.... for mule deer 150 ish would been on the upper end..with 130-140 more likely. Again high pressure in the 600 units. Also the area took a beating in 2011 for deer winter kill and is just starting to rebound.
Can't speak for the reservation itself though.

Another thing .....if it's muddy in that area your pretty well grounded.
