Hey guys so I am a new archer and will be looking to hunt with my new pse stinger 3g as soon as I get comfortable and accurate shooting it, I got the bow for Christmas from my wife and I took it straight to my local archery pro shop and had them put new strings ( winners choice, because all the reviews I read said they were very quiet and reliable although expensive) and a black gold rush 5 pin sight. That's all I'm going to do to it for now but I thought when the proshop installed the sight they would have dialed it in but they did not. I'm shooting high and to the left using the middle pin as my aiming point. Any advice (about anything and everything) would be great but also about my sight.
What's the distance? Set you top pin for 20. When sighting in chase your arrows impact. High and left means to move the sight housing higher and to the left. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Shoot often. During the off season I shoot every single day (children and wife permitting), but don't kill your back and shoulder doing so. The more comfortable you are with your bow, the better! Also, set up a rhythm for your shooting, this really helped me get a pattern down and helped develop my muscle memory. Once you get comfortable with your target, start shooting smaller targets. I have little racks that hold these tiny daisy targets, kind of like clay pigeons, and I shoot at those. They are small, and very hard to hit, but if you don't push yourself, you won't get any better. To prepare myself for the buck fever, 2 times a week, I shoot my bow (3 arrows) then sprint to my target, and sprint back, and shoot another 3. This really helped me, and I learned how to quickly gain control of my heart rate and calm it down. There are a million more things I could probably type, but there are a lot more experienced people on this forum, and I'm sure they have plenty of better ideas for you.
