$8 for a conservation license and $20 for my elk tag=D Thanks again for the kind words everyone. Heading back out on Sunday. I'll be sure to grab some more pictures.
In an incredible spot today. Was at full draw on a bull at 45 but he started walking again just as I settled the pin. More pictures tonight or tomorrow when I get home
Tamaracks are in full color! These pumpkin muffins have become a favorite of mine Stephs first emotional moments with her 2014 Mule Deer...
Super proud of this deer! 1 whole boned out deer, 3 miles until we hit the truck, one exhausting trip.
Nice! I spent the past week hiking all over the mountains of Utah looking for a good buck. More hiking than I've done in about the past 45 years. LOL I have no buck to show for it. So my husband goes out yesterday afternoon and shoots a buck 30-40 yards from the Jeep. Gahhh!!! :D
Usually how it works Christine! I have busted my *** this fall trying to get an elk for the freezer. Stephs first day out and we have a buck down.
Dude, that's awesome! I can't wait to get to Idaho next year. Luckily I get to go on vacation in Colorado in August, then hunting Idaho in September. God I love the West.
Takes a tough S.O.B to eat a pumpkin muffin on top of a mountain. :p Congrats to you and Steph on a great hunt. Did it ever occur to you if you're not having any luck on the elk, and she drops the hammer on a muley on the first day, that maybe she needs to be with you on an elk hunt? If she gets that done, you book the trip to Vegas immediately before the mojo wears off.
Paul, those muffins hit the spot after hiking all day, lol. I took her on an elk hunt with me and called in a 6 point to 40 yards before the wind swirled. She always good luck for me!
That is a mystery ranch NICE frame with a longbow bag http://www.mysteryranch.com/hunting/nice-frame-packs/nice-longbow-pack
I missed all of these pics when you posted them in early Oct, I was in ND duck hunting. I'm glad they were brought back up, man those are some great shots. Thanks for taking the time to post them. One of these days I'm going to have to get my head off of ducks and make a trip to the mountains to see that for myself. I don't understand what you said about other hunters using your pics and google earth. How can someone use your pics to figure out where you were at? That kind of concerns me, I've posted a bunch of duck hunting pics, some of them on public land. PM me if you feel more comfortable discussing it.
