So should a moderator stay neutral on threads and not air their opinions aggressively?

Kinda like a policeman acting respectfully and not letting their emotions overtake a situation? ;)

Too many times I have seen a moderator on sites not control their "mouths" and instead of controlling a situation, they inflame it....

    Thoughts?

I agree with Hook. As long as they don't apply a double standard to themselves and follow the same rule as the other posters are expected to follow, then I see no reason for them to hold back their comments.

Why should a mod not be allowed to express their opinions "aggressively"?

Why do you get so angry when someone disagrees with you?

I agree I have no issue with mods being part of a discussion, I welcome it.

People need to relax a bit. No mod here wakes up and says "I am going to screw with "blank member" today.

In fact I see more members trying to push mods buttons on this board then they other way around.

A police office can express his opinions all he wants, I only have a problem when he tries to enforce any opinions that do not agree with the law.

A mod can express any opinion he wants, no worries.

But if a mod tries to ban me or lock a thread because he gets butthurt that I do not agree with his opinion, then yeah, I would have a problem with that. That is the reason why I was banned from HNI.

Moderators on a bowhunting forum are not Cops. Not sure why that is even in the discussion.

    Thats what i was thinking.

The ONLY job mods have is to "moderate" an internet forum owned by Todd Graff. Who are we to get pissed if they "break Todd Graff's rules?". As long as its okay with Todd...it IS his ship that we are sailing on...
