Welcome back Don!! I hope to put down 3-4 deer this year and maybe a Turkey or 2. What I pay to hunt(gas, lodging, lease, etc) it would be a hell of alot cheaper for me to go to a grocery store. But what fun is that?

I have killed 4 deer and 1 or 2 turkeys the past two seasons and we usually run out of meat around May or June. But I discovered making summer sausage this past year and that may necessitate whacking an extra this year. I used one deer this past year to make sausage and it was amazing. I'll probably try and make something even different next year such as brats or bologna or something. We eat a ton of Johnsonville Brats and I know making them could save on the grocery bill.
