I use Buckfever Synthetics Scents. Prior to the rut I use Pre/Post Rut on the ground and the gland stuff on the licking branch. During the rut I'll switch over to the rut stuff for the ground. This BF stuff rocks, It really does!! I've been using It for 3 years now going on 4 years this year. It's amazing how many daytime pics I get on my trail cams on my mock scrapes. The trail cam pics of mature bucks on mock scrapes that I've posted In the trail cam section In this forum the last 3 years can attest to that. Thanks to Shed on here who got me started on this stuff prior to the 2009 deer season.

One thing Is for certain though, Mock scrapes are only as good as the place you put them In.

I must be the odd one, I tried this stuff last year, and had zero luck. I put the scrapes in areas where I have done them before. Seems like the only stuff I have had luck with is the Code Blue. But I have never really had any luck with any of the stuff I have used for the licking branch. maybe I will have to give the Buck Fever stuff another try this year.

I have had great luck with Border Crossings Deer Herd In A Stick it comes in a stick like a deodorant stick I put it on the licking branch and pee in the scrape. Apply once and the deer take it from there :deer:

That's Interesting. I usually start my mock scrapes after I get done with bear hunting. About mid September I start my scrapes. I've had pics of mature bucks hitting my scrapes In mid September like It was late October. It's a great feeling knowing you are fooling a bucks nose. Last year my mocks got hit good but some of them not as good as usual. I expieremnted some last year on 2 of my 5 mocks I put out. I put more stuff (pre/post rut) on the ground on 2 of them then I ever have In years prior. The ones I did that too the bucks were kind of nervous. A buck don't pee much In these scrapes when they hit them so really why should I/we add more then were suppose too. Lesson learned for me, easy on how much stuff you use for the ground. As for the gland stuff, you can't use too much of that In my opinion. The licking branch to me Is the most Important part of the mock.

Good luck Bigdaddy In your upcoming mocks. Mocks are allot of fun no doubt!!

I'm going to have to give the Buck Fever stuff a whirl this year with my mocks. I'm hearing too many good things about it from guys on here that I trust.

For most of my scent usage, I've been using James Valley scents for years. Honestly, its been the absolute best scent for my area. I've never had as many deer respond to scent wicks that I do with the James Valley stuff.

Used Tinks power scrape last year, and had some good results, going to use it again this year.

Wow, are bucks scraping in August in Kansas? I won't see a scrape until around Thanksgiving... maybe a little before.

You can't go wrong with James Valley either. My brother loved the James Valley scents when he used them. He tried some of my BF stuff 2 years ago and couldn't believe the results he got.
