Hey guys, it's time to start good plots and mineral sites for me! I need a bit of advice.

Our deer hunting land has a few food plots already on it, and I plan to start some monster raxx sites and some mock scrapes this year.

How do all three of these interact with each other? Can you put a scrape right next to food? Can you put monster raxx right next to a scrape? Can you put all three together? None together?

    Thanks for any input!

When I say "can I" I mean is it natural/effective for the deer.

I would say that putting a scrape next to a foot plot is definitely natural and effective. Anywhere there are does with bucks in the area, there will be scrapes - and since does spend a lot of time grazing, the edges of fields/food plots are a prime spot for scrapes. As far as mineral sites in these areas, I'm not sure but I will definitely be checking back in because now I'm curious. I hope that helped a little bit

I've been making mock scrapes for several years on my farms. I put several along the edge of food plots. I tie down saplings so they overhang the scrape. The bucks love to tear them up to show how tough they are. Be sure to put cameras nearby so you can see what's coming to them.

Other places I make scrapes is along roadways. Deer are like us they like easy walking areas. So if you have roads that aren't travelled by cars (dirt roads back in the woods), it's a good place to put them.

You can start the scrapes early in the fall, deer will visit them even when the rut is not on. I used Wildlife Research products for my scrapes.
