I need a break from this crap so I'm duck hunting at least Saturday this weekend!

4 day break for Thanksgiving so should get it done with a doe before muzzleloader starts I hope.

Now that the rain has stopped, it is a little moist in the woods.

It is defiantly weird with the deer, last night as I was walking up to feed and it felt like January like when the deer yard up. Must have had 20 does and fawns that did the slink back in the trees and watch from 30-40 yards, like they do when the snow is deep and they don't want to spend the energy to run away. Weird part is there is no snow no shortage of feed.

Haven't seen a deer in the last 4 sits. Cows are in the pasture where all the does are hanging out so it's making a tough go of it late season here.

I sat on a cut corn field last night and not a single deer entered before dark...

I'm losing interest fast so hopefully I can manage a doe in the next week or so.

Coyotes and ice fishing are starting to call my name.

Well the moon has been pretty bright with clear night skies, recipe for nocturnal. Even with no pressure and coming to a feeder they still do the night thing under those conditions. Will be interesting what the snow does for activity, instead of digging for acorns that picked field could be late season gold.

That's what I'm hoping for in my winter wheat/rye and brassica plot. Not a single set of tracks in there yesterday. Rabbits sure love it though..

I want some tracking snow, I intend to find where the bucks bed in the gated community behind me, might ask permission to drop in some stumps in with some monster raxx.

Do that after December when hunting seasons over. Its got food content in it. FYI If the minerals got food in it. its bait. Its a no no in MN. Trophy rock or evolve rack rock is a natural mineral so its ok to use it during hunting season

Hunting season is over as soon as I put my tag on a deer. I can feed deer anytime I want in Minnesota, I just can't hunt the area for 10 days after the feed is removed. Deer typically do not seek mineral once the velvet is off.

I'm just hoping it doesn't rain all weekend. This will likely be my only opportunity to get in a stand.
