So I posted this on 11/4... Between 11/7 and 11/8 I saw 12 does, and not a single buck chasing. We had a doe that still had her 3 fawns with her yesterday evening (brothers wife took her). I'm not exactly sure what to make of it all. Early rut? I'm not even sure.
I am confused. Went out Saturday for the gun opener. We saw probably 20 does all day, and not one buck. I know they are around, because we are getting bucks on cams at night. Between Sunday morning, and tonight, we saw probably 6 does total, and no bucks. I had a big doe come out tonight at 5:10 all alone. Where the heck are all the bucks at??? All these does, you would think you would see a few bucks. We are hunting around Austin, and Owatonna.
I'm confused also. Between me my son and my brother we saw 36 does/fawns on Saturday and Sunday. NO BUCKS! I've got a pile of bucks on camera but we didn't see one. I bow hunted Friday afternoon and swapped the card in the camera out. Which had several bucks on it. I swapped it out again on Sunday I was curious with all the does we saw. Low and behold theres a picture of the big 10 coming thru at 6:30 an hour after sunset. I've got pictures of this same buck at 8:24 am and 1:47 pm from the week before. You'd think with all the does there'd be at least one buck on the prowl even if it was one of the little guys? Any thoughts?
We saw the same. With the exception of two small basket 8's and a spike, there were a ton of does sighted. Nothing was on the does, however. The spike was the closest, coming by 15 min after a couple does.
Chisel plowing last night at dusk. Saw 5 lone does in all directions and not a single buck. Dad saw a couple more lone does earlier in the afternoon.
You guys think we had an early rut across Minnesota? Rut not in full swing yet? I did forget to mention that I did see one spike who was cruising hard... But nothing else.
I'm not really sure? My buck sightings and daytime camera pictures were great up until Halloween. After that, not seeing a thing; not even small guys. We've been doing a ton of field work and fencing too and haven't been seeing anything but does.
Talked to many gun hunters, they all saw deer vast majority said they only saw does. Not sure what happened like others mentioned at Halloween it sure seemed to peak prerut that feeling it was going to bust wide open, I guess blame el Nino
Went out again lastnight, and saw one line doe just before dark. She was all alone. Talked to a guy at work, and he saw 3 does out in front of the shop lastnight, all alone. This morning he saw a big 10 point in the same spot, but no does.
I just talked to a buddy who is out spraying anhydrous. He jumped a big 8 and a doe out of the smallest patch of weeds on a line fence. Now the doe is laying out in the chisel plowing, and the buck is standing right behind her. So now I don't know what to think.
Brother was out the last 2 nights and still nothing. Has a NNE wind for one of our best stands tonight... If nothing is seen tonight I'm not sure what to think.
Nothing for me this morning. We have a new rub line within the last week. Had a 4pt work a scrape and heard grunting all morning in the willows. There is hope. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
