Ok I killed Sunday. Now back track a little. I hit a buck on oct 30 that was not recovered. Big non typical. Come to find out another bow hunter got him 10 days later. 7 by 4. 210 lbs. Any who. I was thrilled to hear he made it but disappointed in myself. Another back track, nov 4 th I had a real nice 8 come in to thirty yards and no shot. Move ahead to last Wednesday and I set up in a new location. Saw a spike at 1400 and then a big deer at1500. Both out of range, but both used same trail. Come friday I move closer to that trail an pass on a young 8 and see two doe an fawn. Now I return Sunday and move right in on that trail. 1515 I have a doe come behind me and she starts pissing on her glands. She makes giant circle around me continually pissing. I thought this is prime. About 1550 I hear a grunt ahead of me. A second later I hear a branch snap behind me. I quickly glance back and see a nice buck. I turn forward and grab my bow an tell myself don't move I can faintly hear him coming. As he gets just under me I decide to peak. He is right below me and walking straight away. I pull back and let out a mehhhhh. He bolts. About four or five steps. He stops for a second and begins to look back. I let fly at 8 yards. Thwack. Buried to fletching. I drilled him. I watch this big buck tear off. Call pops and he an brother come to track. It's fairly slow. A little uncomfortable. But I know he is dead. About hundred yards in my bro says is that him. And there he lay. Just ahead. What a relief and surge of excitement. I made double lung an exited far shoulder. Turned out to be the big 8 from nov 4th. 199 lbs
Dude, don't make me do math to know what time you're talking about, I hate math. Nice deer and it looks like you shot it with a bow during gun season since you're wearing orange which makes it even sweeter!!
