So what do you guys think? I think this one might go the distance with a unanimous decision for Brock. Hope it's a good fight, but I think they will be gassed by the third round.
Any predictions for the rest of the card as well????????? Jake Shields vs Martin Kampmann Diego Sanchez vs Paulo Thiago Tito Ortiz vs Matt Hamill Brendan Schaub vs Gabriel Gonzaga Court Mcgee vs Ryan Jensen Patrick Cote vs Tom Lawlor Mike Guymon vs Daniel Roberts Sam Stout vs Paul Taylor Chris Camozzi vs Dongi Yang Jon Madsen vs Gilbert Yvel
WIN------------------------LOSE Brock Lesnar vs Cain Velasquez Jake Shields vs Martin Kampmann Diego Sanchez vs Paulo Thiago Tito Ortiz vs Matt Hamill Brendan Schaub vs Gabriel Gonzaga Court Mcgee vs Ryan Jensen I sure hope Matt Hamill beats the piss out of Tito, but Tito knows Hamill inside and out.
On paper, Cain has all the tools to win this fight. With that said, I'm not sure if he's ready mentally for this type of attention or fight.
pretty much. i think the only person that can beat brock lesner at the moment is shane carwin. cant wait to see that rematch. that was a damned good fight
Lesnar got it handed to him. Wasn't even a contest, wow. I'll give Brock credit though, he took it with class in the post fight interview.
Word. I can't stand that dude. Lesnar did get his butt whiped, I'm positive he is a little sore today.
Why would Lesnar try to stand with that guy? I did not even watch the fight but can tell from the write up. He needs to have circled and tried to shoot. If it took him two rounds to secure a takedown then so be it. Champions do not charge into their opponents massive strengths, they avoid them and explout them. Lesnar has good stamina and should have used it to wear him down prior to him waging in to punch with him.
from what i saw, he tried to shoot on him and cain just pushed it off. cought him with a falling back right that put brock on his ass, then it was all downhill
He did go for the shoot, right away Brett... even took him down twice. But Cain's camp brought in some big dudes to practice exactly that scenario of letting a huge guy lay on him and for him to practice scrambling to his feet with someone of that size on top of him. Reports were that even Daniel Cormier -- who's reputed to be a better wrestler than Lesnar -- wasn't even able to hold him down for more than 30 seconds at a time in camp. Guess those reports proved correct, as that's exactly how it played out come go-time. I haven't watched any replays (only watched it live) but from my perspective, it appeared the beginning of the end for Lesnar was when he was attempting yet another shoot and missed Cain's legs. His momentum from the attempt sent him flying across the cage and Cain followed and pounced on him, trapping him against the wall and ground and pounding to the victory.
yep, those were some interesting fights. I am so glad Tito lost!!!! It will be interesting to see what Brock does from here, it seems like he has trouble taking a punch. Same thing happened in the Carwin fight, Carwin just couldn't finish.
I hated to see Brock lose his title, but Cain can throw a punch. Measued at double the force of James "Lights out" Tony. I do however see someone like Carwin or Mir, taking that belt from Cain. I was happy to see Jake Shields win his first fight in the UFC, and always happy to see Tito lose. In the Prelims, Brandon Shaub seems to be improving as well. For those who didnt see the Sport Science piece on Cain, it can be seen here http://www.cagepotato.com/cain-vela...pitbull-bites-and-has-conditioning-marathoner He hits with 2230 ft/lbs of force.
