Who ya got? I'm hoping for Yankees vs Cards in the series. Gut feeling is Phillies/ Angels....don't really know why though.
I HATE the Yankees. As long as they don't win it I am fine with whowever else does. I am a Twins fan but I don't have much confidence in them doing much in the post season. Morneau and three starting pitchers on the DL makes it tough for them...combine that with the fact that they played 13 innings yesterday before having to go on the road to play today. I have to give them credit though...they made a hell of a run to capture the division title.
Oh I hate the Yankees as much as the next guy, but I'd like to see them lose in the series. That was a hell of a game last night, the Twins are fun to watch.
I'm a lifelong Bosox fan, its my job to hate the yankees. If the yanks make the series I'd LOVE to see them lose to Torre and the Dodgers.
I mostly have the bone to pick with the people who run the league. One team should not be allowed to have a payroll 3 times the ammount of the typical team. It is an unfair advantage. Other sports have put salary caps in place for a reason...MLB should do the same.
I hope the Twins can prove themselves again, they are on hell of a baseball team!! If the Yankees do win the series, I hope they get stomped on against Boston, hopefully!! I cant stand the Yankees either!
I'll be rootin for my Cardinals! With pretty solid pitching, offense, and a fair defense, they could make it pretty far I think. However, their offense has been kinda sporadic towards the end of the season so I hope they can pull it all together for the playoffs.
i'm an anti salary cap/free agent kinda guy... I think salary caps/free angency have ruined football and made millionaires out of mediocre players... I'd hate to see baseball do that also... besides, don't the big teams have to pay a "tax" to help out the smaller teams???
wait, are you sayin an organization like the cubs can't afford to field a winning team??? you're kidding right??
Uh....where did I say anything about the Cubs??? The Cubs are a big market team...obviously. I don't know why they are such losers but it's not because of lack of cash. They have a sizeable payroll. It's the smaller market teams which are generally disadvantaged compared to the larger ones. I'm not making this crap up...it's pretty common knowledge. Everytime a big free agent becomes available there are only about 8-10 revenue rich teams that can afford to consider signing them.
green bay is a small market team and they have more NFL championships than any other team.... what's your point??
Do the Packers play baseball??? This thread is about MLB. The NFL has a salary cap. My point was stated pretty clearly.
GB only won ONE championship since the cap/free agency period I don't want caps, I hate what they do to teams... they force you into two types of teams.... a team with a few excellent starters and absolutely zero depth OR a team that is deep but doesn't dominate in any way unless they get injury help from other teams... its ridiculous... also helps remove the ability of a GM to build a team over time that can win.... you won't be able to convince me otherwise...
Dodgers/Yankees - The baseball would be good but the off-the-field drama would be 10 times better LOL. Minnesota has one of the smallest payrolls in baseball.
