I thought I was wrong but I was mistaken.

Adams is scratched and craig is starting.

Especially if first base is open and a runner in scoring position.

Not that part, I am talking about the drugs and money. Baseball just isn't what it was.

I agree. He should have gotten the 4 fingers in the 1st.

Big hit by Holliday. Having a pretty good series so far.

Congrats to the Sox and more so the city of Boston. 95 years since it was clinched there, can't imagine what it's like there for the fans and the city.

Cards really got beat by a better team. The only 2 games they won were given to them by the Sox on errors.

Wacha simply got beat tonight. Started strong, but you can only go to the well so many times before it dries up. Future is bright for the Birds. Need to address SS and probably CF. I hope they can work something with Beltran, but he's probably gone. Freese is probably on his way out too.

    Lineup next year:
    Wong-2nd
    Carp-3rd
    Holliday-LF
    Craig-1B
    Molina-C
    Tavares-RF
    Jay-CF
And then whatever bum ends up at short.

Tavares and Adams probably play into a platoon with Craig switching between 1st and RF.

Great series for sure. I was happy to see a great matchup. I had a feeling that when they got to Wacha early on that it might be a good sign. What a turn around in on season!

Wacha is going to be nasty as he matures as long as he stays healthy.

I agree the better team one. I would even say the the cards way overacheaved this year and were exposed when they ran into really good pitching.

The cards youth just needs some experience but the bottom of the lineup has got to be addressed.

Blah.. yeah I agree the Cards were just outmatched. The ..... GAG... better team won. Was hoping they would at least force it to a game 7. The energy in that stadium was just nuts though. Almost had a feeling like it was over about when it started.

The Cardinals didn't hit. End of story. Tip the cap to Boston, they pitched well and scored runs when they needed to.

BTW, if Freese, Kozma and Jay are starters next year, break out the pitchforks. You can't have 4 automatic outs in a lineup.

I told a buddy of mine that really thought the noise, pressure, and atmosphere might finally get to Wacha. Maybe it did, who knows. I ALMOST bought tickets to this one right after the ALCS. $715 might have been worth it:D

Freese can hit, he looks like he was overthinking it.

Jay is also better than he showed but something was off with him.

Kozma is never going to hit and if he doesn't clean up his defense, he's in trouble and may be on his way out of the league all together. He has talent, just too many mistakes at inopportune moments.

Freese could hit. He didn't this year, and had zero power. If you are going to use a 30+ year old 3rd baseman with no pop, get one that plays better D. His throws to first in the playoffs were all lobs. He just looked awful. And thats coming from a big fan of his. I'm of the belief that its far better to let go of a player a year too soon than a year too late. I think his days as a starting 3rd baseman are numbered.

Jay is what he is, limited range, weak arm and hits an empty 280. Tavarez should push Jay to the 4th outfielder next season.

Kozma sucks. Not much to add to that one.

Jay will be back in center next year. Maybe Robinson gives him some pressure out there, but I highly doubt they bring someone in vie free agency.

I don't see Tavares playing center. With Beltran all but gone, they need a RF. It wouldn't surprise me to see Adams packaged with a pitcher to get a SS. If Freese is back, I'd say it's not as a full time player.

I'm not sure how they overachieved this year when you figure they were one win away from the WS last year and that would have made it three consecutive WS appearances. Every team gets exposed when they face good pitching, good pitching beats good hitting 9 times out of 10. They've got big holes in the bottom of the lineup that needs attention this off season. Beltran probably doesn't get resigned also so they can get both Craig's and Adams bat both in the lineup.

They returned with injuries and young players in key roles. Namely the pitching.

They are a quality organization from top to bottom but no way this team should have been tied with the most wins in baseball this season.
