Your right, I'm sure Verlander has learned to throw the ball to 1st base by now. Honestly, if they win tonight I have a hard time seeing them get past the Dodgers and their lefties.
So being from Pittsburgh, this whole baseball talk thing is quite the new experience. I've been thru Stanley Cup runs, SuperBowl wins, but man the excitement the Buccos have stirred up just with this playoff go is AMAZING!
Great game for Waino! I wouldn't have expected anything less from him though. As the Cards get deeper in the playoffs it sure would be nice to see Carpenter in the starting rotation lol. I don't trust Lance Lynn one bit as he's so inconsistent. Hopefully Wacha can continue to pitch on the level he's be pitching at.
Hats off to the Pirates. They had a great season, and good core of young players. They should be good for the next few years. Waino was typical Waino. The homer from Freese was nice to see given his struggles all year. It really set the tone for the rest of the game. Onto the Dodgers now. Crazy to think they clinched home field and moved on to the NLCS without their cleanup hitter. Goes to show the type of job that Matt Adams has done thus far. The AL side of things should be a good one tonight with Verlander and Gray.
big game for Verlander and the Tigs tonight.......JV has had a rough year. He needs another good game tonight to have confidence for next season
Carlos Beltran. What a game! Heck of a start by Greinke. Kelly hung in there despite early troubles. Beltran again throws the team on his back, 3 rbis and gunning out the potential winning run. I know why Mattingly took A-Gone out in the 8th, but man did that bite them in the a$$. Kershaw and Wacha this afternoon. Cy Young vs. Top Prospect. Should be good.
Cards heading to the World Series!! Safe to same I'm glad to see the Cards bats come alive in game 6 to avoid the stress of a game 7. Once again Wacha throws an incredible game! Who's it going to be... Tigers or Red Sox to join them? I predicted at the beginning of the postseason that Boston was going to win it all, but I hope I'm wrong and the Cards pull it out.
What a stud Wacha has been. I was there last night, and the last thing I expected was a 9 spot facing Kershaw. Allen Craig will be back for the WS, as a DH and pinch hitter. Hopefully he gets hos timing back quickly. I'd rather face Boston, from a matchup standpoint. Staying away from Verlander, Scherzer, Sanchez, and Fister would be nice, but the Sox have a superior pen and I think a more complete lineup 1-9. Wonder if Ortiz would play the field in the NL games?
True, but I feel like Fenway is a little tougher to play at than Detroit. I still think we match up better against them though. With Craig in the DH role, our lineup could do some damage.
Both probable Cy Young winners take losses in each Game 6... Sox/Cards. Should be a fun series. I was there in '06 and '11 for both clinchers. Right now, looks like I might have a ticket for game 5, so hopefully the Birds can make short work of a team with some epic beards!
I don't wanna talk about it haha. Hopefully they're able to clear it from their head and perform tonight.
