I would like to hear Tom Kelly's opinion of how the Twins are playing.

KC 7-0. I had a feeling they'd be decent team this year. I know it's early on in the season so you can't go with a teams record as of yet to how good they are. I do think the tigers will end up winning that division by the time it's all said and done, however the royals have played some great ball so far this season and have come out to a great start. Tough to see my jays loose their first 2 games at the Rogers center, even though both games were close (2-1, 3-2) well two more gamesto go. Hoping to get a split out of that series at least. Burhle tomorrow and hutch to start the last game of the series. Would be nice to see the jays get the next two wins. At least then they'll have won two series' and split one before they face ATL. Surprised with the nationals' start so far, like I said it's early on in the season, a lot will change. I'm excited to see what the next few weeks have in store.

The Twins will suck again! They need to bring all of their prospects up instead of waiting forever like they do. Also Terry Ryan has lost his mojo as a GM. Need new blood there.

The Twins SUCK and the F N Polad's are the greediest F N owners in all of sports. I really wanted them to get the new stadium and it is awesome, but I don't care how great your stadium is if they play like S**T. Those greedy bastards said they would spend money and bring in good free agents if they got their stadium well they screwed us again. I wish they just left and took the family with them!

Your right about the stadium Tom, The Twins have the nicest Minor League stadium in the country. It's just pathetic the Team they put on the field.

Kris Bryant to the rescue  - Strikeout rate will be near the 30% mark in the majors.

Crazy series with KC and the A's this weekend.

Herrera comes off as a b**ch on this one. Even if you think the slide by Lawrie was dirty (and I don't), you don't throw 100 at someone, and then tell them the next one is going at his head. I hope he gets a good suspension for being an idiot.

I'd have thrown the first one at his head rather than threaten it.

Yeah let's try to end a career and potentially cause serious harm as retaliation....yeah that's really smart.

It's making an example...it doesn't need to be smart.

How do you know what Herrera was telling him? How do you know he didn't just lose the grip on that fastball? If you don't think Lawrie's slide was dirty and at the very least reckless, then how can you see fault in throwing a pitch that didn't even hit a guy? There was nothing clean about Lawrie's slide. It was late, so late the he slide will past the bag only clipping it with is toe. All while he had is lead foot spikes up a foot and a half in the air. At the same time he's rolling away from the bag. To break up a double play that as a play, he knows would be impossible. You tell me what is more dangerous, a 100mph fastball in the ribs, or a set if spikes ripping through someone's achelis tendon? Which one runs more a risk of ending a person's career? Lets call a spade a spade here. It was dirty and unnecessary considering he would have been clearly safe had he just taken a normal slide into the bag. Herrera throwing behind the guy sounds more like a message than malice intent. If he wanted to hit him, he would have, you can bank on that. I don't really think Herrera care's what fans of other teams think of him, he's there for his team and he's sending a message to every team in baseball. KC will no longer get pushed around, they are playing with the big boys now and doing quite well at it. Other teams don't like that so they are trying to bully them by pitching hard and inside, plunking them at an extremely high rate. The ALCS MVP has already been hit 3 or 4 times this year. That's by design, not accident.

 I was just joking around with my posts yesterday in this thread but this was well said. You can't keep letting other teams push you around and letting them hurt your players unchallenged. Something was also wonky with the umps...

We all know what Herrera's intentions were, so let's stop trying to justify it.

They hit Lawrie the same game he slid. I have no problem with that. It should've ended there but the Royals/Herrera decided to keep doing it.

Yes, slides are dirty. But nothing is worse than a fastball straight to the head. Ask Stanton.

Actually, you don't have your facts right. They did not hit him in the same game. The Royals were protecting a lead when he came up so they pitched to him. They hit him in the next game. Also, we all know Lawrie's intentions, and it wasn't to break up a double play.

Well for starter Herrera didn't throw once, but twice at Lawrie, and after being ejected started pointing to his head and at Lawrie....if I flip you off, I'm not calling you #1 lol. Lawrie slide late, but that doesn't make it dirty. One of the first things they teach you when sliding into 2nd is you break up the double play. Lawrie was still in his baseline. I have ZERO issue with Ventura beaning him the next day, at that point it should have been over. Reference Matt Holliday/Marco Scutaro 2012 NLCS.

Also something that is going unsaid is how the play unfolded. The shift was on, so Escobar is playing an unnatural SS. He has probably been playing SS his whole life, and I'm going to go ahead and say he very rarely is taking a throw from 3B on a DP. So as Moose threw the ball to Escobar he's hung up to dry. Escobar is used to taking a double play turn from the 2nd baseman and avoiding the runner from that angle, here he's a sitting duck...not his fault, but don't blame Lawrie for doing what they teach you to do in high school.

Also I guarantee you that if Herrera beans someone in the head on purpose, he isn't going to be gaining respect inside any clubhouse...including his own.

BTW I understand you are a Royals fan, so I completely see your view point on this. Hell I have Escobar in a big money fantasy league where I can't afford to lose a SB contributor!
